This is a fascinating audio recording of of radio emissions from Saturn like a scene out of Space Odyssey 2001, created for NASA by Bill Kurth and Donald A. Gurnett, the James A. Van Allen/Roy J. Carver Professor of Physics at the University of Iowa. Gurnett is a member of the National Academy of Sciences.

I've listened to these before and they are indeed eerie and yet beautiful. There are also recordings of many of the other planets. The weird thing is they sound exactly like you would expect, like the eerie but beautiful ambiance of a film set in space.

The Cosmos is truly incredible. My signature used to say "the Universe is made of music and we are echoes of the melody" for just this reason, everything seems to be giving off frequencies and electromagnetic or radio noise that when heard audibly sounds like music. The cosmic symphony.

Awesome I never knew these existed till now. Really eerie stuff. Also just found what Jupiter sounds like. Not as fun but interesting. S&F

I think this would make a great meditation tool...very much like dolphins in a way...the frequencies are very soothing and almost familiar in an odd sort of way...

In all seriousness, though, that's pretty amazing... some parts of it kind of remind me of The Bloop.

Also it caused a brief bout of tinnitus in my left ear o.O That was weird.

If you listen to the earth sounds they recorded along with Saturn and Jupiter, you would hear the artificiality of them more clearly. These are fake, sorry, but it's true. These are artist concepts of the sounds of the planets, not real sounds. There are no sounds in space.

Really interesting how close the sound is the movie Forbidden Planet? I always wonder whether that is an intuitive ability of the sound man for the movie to pick the right material or what?

I was pretty sure they were fake too. They were just too creepy to be real. And I don`t know if it just sounded different on my phone, but it was nice at first then it sounded like some creature was wailing or screaming. people around me are sleeping and I had to shut it off after about 15 or 20 secs. But ya space is quiet. Unless you can catch a radio wave, and I`m pretty sure ive heard the waves from space. pretty much like white noise. but that could still be soothing. it was actually quieter than regular white noise from a tv. it was gentle.

Not sure if your intentionally spreading disinformation or you just don't know any better. If you're going to call something fake you need to provide evidence that it has been faked. First off perhaps a reason why it would be faked.

These are not fake nor are they an artist conception. They are real and only equally shifted in frequency in order to be audible.

Time on this recording has been compressed, so that 73 seconds corresponds to 27 minutes. Since the frequencies of these emissions are well above the audio frequency range, we have shifted them downward by a factor of 44.

Yes, there are other threads about these sounds and I find them fascinating.

They're not fake; they're just mislabeled. They are not the actual sounds generated by the planet, but rather various vibrational frequencies -- various wavelengths of light, specifically -- which "bear" these "sounds" when they are translated into sound.

There *IS* no sound in space.... but this is not sound...

The OP clearly labels this as "Radio"... as in Radio Waves!

The "Audio Clip" as expressed by the NASA link in the OP clearly lables this "Noise" as 30-40 khz...

That frequency would put the emissions in the Far Radio range of the Electromagnetic Spectrum.

Research before you condemn....

I attempted a thread similar to this a while back.
I dont profess to own the ideas etc or say ( In the most pathetically catty voice )-"But there has already been a thread on that "....blah, blah.
My thread was a little different, but trying to raise awareness upon the same topic.
You are welcome to pull this thread apart and use it to supplement your own; hopefully if you choose to do that; it may give us all some more answers upon this interesting anomaly!
