I believe Christians have the right to sing about their religion in any way they please. Power to them... That's all cool with me! But I also believe that the Op has the right to complain at the top of his lungs.

It's the religious types that are constantly whining about popular music, movies, television shows, websites and publications trying to push their agenda's onto the mainstream. I'd be very interested to see how much media is withdrawn or modified each year due to religious action/zealotry.

Hey man, you ever driven around in the country? There are churches at every crossroad, at least here in NC. Thus, country music has a deep rooted base in Christianity.
I live in the country, and we do believe in God and know Jesus. When you are up against the weather with next fall's pay check riding on enough rain and sun, good weather to grow pretty corn and beans, you do everything including praying to God.
When you go out to the barn and see a couple of new kids your goats had, and the momma is fine...or a new litter of piglets and almost all of them lived,which will be next years Christmas gifts and Santa Claus, you know God.
When you see the sky turn black, and the wind is whipping trees over, and the tin roof on your house starts to rumble from the blasts from a nearby tornado....son, you better know God.
That's country, simple living, God Bless America, Mom, baseball, apple pie....sounds corny, old fashioned... but that's what makes country country...goes for the music too.
