As we already reported, a psychiatrist prescribed Haim Valium and Soma, along with Vicodin and haloperidol (an antipsychotic med), a few days before he died.

What's with the Drs.?

If the coroner finds a causal link between the Rx and Haim's death, then what are the odds we see the DA file manslaughter charges similar to Michael Jackson's case?

Just to play devil's advocate for a moment...

Valium, an anti-anxiety med, paired with soma- used often for insomnia, plus haloperidol- an anti psychotic= he was diagnosed with PTSD, anxiety, with depression as a secondary dx. Vicodin (hydrocodone) - could be actual hydrocodone, not vicodin- which is an ingredient in some cough medicines- which if he was having flu like symptoms, may have been prescribed for that.

It's a startling combo to the average bear, but not so suprising to someone with mental illness that have secondary effects. I myself take daily celexa, propanol (NOT for HBP- for anxiety), oxycontin, flexiril, and seroquel.

That's alot of crap. But has no "highs" involved, nor am I walking around like a zombie.

Just saying, his combo of meds is not really as ridiculous as it seems, in fact, for his dx's, it seems rather mild.

I understand your point completely but the nobodies' doctors usually don't help with the overdose.

Really? Of course they do...come on. Doctor's prescribe meds these days like it's candy. I went to the hospital recently with an injury from a bike accident and the doctor asked me what I preferred for a pain med. I told him Advil and he looked at me like I was a moron. Like I should have jumped at the chance to grab some Percs or Vicodins. He also didn't ask me if I was currently on any meds....

This isn't an isolated incident either. My GP will prescribe for me or anyone else pretty much anything we ask for. I haven't taken part in that in over 8 years but when I wasn't sober I could get just about anything I wanted.

So I am one out of 350,000,000 or so people in the US and have had 2 doctors recently trying to push narcotics on me. Imagine how often it happens....I don't think I am unique here.

I will agree that plenty of overdoses happen without the involvement of doctors, i.e. Heroin for instance but more and more problems are arising as a result of doctors and prescription meds.
