I stumbled across this Egyptian some odd karat gold ring that belonged to my dad.

It was really important to him and stuff I heard, and it's not put together.

So my big question is, does anyone know how to put these together, I've tried looking at youtube videos and sites that help as much as watching a bear it a kitten. Just doesn't make any sense how they do it....

The local jeweler isn't open for quite some time, and I'd like to be able to put it together myself, I can post pictures of it if that would help.

It's got six bands, there are 'dimples' (heard that expression on a youtube video for it) on every single one of them, and it's just frustrating as all hell!

I figure since ATS/BTS is just all around the world people, some would know how to do it, and be able to explain it.

would you happen to have pictures?
I've heard of this type of puzzle before.

And if its not the one I'm thinking of still
send pictures if you can, my friends and myself
love solving puzzles.

we make the wooden box kind for family and friends
during the holidays.

If the pictures are good, we might be able to replicate
the puzzle ( with permission of course ) to do our selves ( hands on )

Thank you for the quick reply, I don't have a camera, but I got one on my phone so I'll just do it via cell phone, hopefully it'll come out clear, I'll take quite a few, it'd be pretty great if I could put this together myself, my dad really loved it.

I used to wear one of these too and they are so simple to put together once you've been shown, but it's unlikely a person could ever work it out first! lol! Fiendishly difficult....

I did find some vids for you though...

www.puzzle-ring-solutions.com...

www.youtube.com...

If it's a six band ring, you have to treat the inner four rings as two sets of two, and usually the two really pointy rings form the outside of the set, and you start with these held opposite each other to form the frame, with the points outwards.

I hope this helps, and you get it fixed!

well the four inside, go opposite to opposite and again.

each one faces away from the next one, I can't get them to match up

I'll check out the vids though

Ok...just have seen your pics...the second to last one where you're holding the two pointy rings to form a diamond shape is how you start. The other rour rings should be in matching sets of two that kind of go together, and if you can pair them up, they can be assembled easily. Take one pair of the rings while you're holding the diamond shape in your left hand, and ...this is hard to explain....you kinda turn them upside down, and push them back up to the top of the ring again to get them into place. And then the other set of two will do the same thing in the opposite direction.

Bleh.....I hope this helps....

Ok I think I finished it, but it's not ring material....

I think I may have made the four middle bands opposite wise, is this possible or did I just mysteriously **** up the last stage of it?

It could be possible that you got the two inner sets the wrong way round if they're not fitting perfectly together, but it sounds like you're almost correct. Maybe swap the sets round? They should just drop into place.

I don't think it's a defect, but maybe, at the very last part, they just don't click together, the bulge parts of the rings just don't click into it, argh, it's frustrating, i've got of been at this for hours...
eventually though right i'll get it!

Ok, I've got it completed, except for the last band, i'm scared to attempt it, like terrified!!!

But I got to admit it's not very fashionable with one band sticking out

Just glad i'm making progress, thanks guys so far!

Edit!!!!

MESSED IT UP ARGGHHHHHHH

Nope, that's why I took electrical tape and taped the bottom together, and am not taking it off my finger

4 hours taken away from my life figuring this damn thing out

I'm curious how much it's worth, so I'll check it out in a couple a days at the jewelers, hopefully he can give me something better than tape to keep it together.

Look for engraving, very small, too. Sometimes, the makers of these do this, to help you find the "key" links to use.
