I was doing some preliminary research on potential domain names for a cancer information website I will soon be starting. A WHOIS domain owner search for www.cancercures.com revealed that Pfizer Inc. has owned the domain since July 21st, 1998. Do you think they'll use the website anytime soon to offer information on effective cancer treatment?

Are you kidding?

Big pharma will NEVER allow cancer cures to be exposed
to public. NEVER.

They have suppressed and will suppress any and all cures.

They are quite happy will MAINTAINING diseases rather than
curing them.

More profit for them this way.
It's that simple...

And btw - FDA serves big pharma's purposes.

I was being facetious.

So now from suppressing cures,
they "suppress" relevant domain names too...

Wait... the day big pharma declares H20 as proprietary
compound is coming.

Medication for fighting symptoms of dehydration...

In my opinion it is symbolic. Pfizer Inc. is basically "sitting" on cancer cures (dot com).

What about all the non-big-pharma scientists working on it? They have nothing to gain from keeping cures from the public - if they were to find one, the involved scientists would receive world recognition for their fantastic work, get Nobel prizes, and be guaranteed anything they desired in terms of working conditions anywhere.

And in my opinion it's just domain-squatting. It's a domain name related to their business. It's hardly uncommon for companies to register domains they might never use, just to ensure if the million-to-one chance they do need it, they have it.

It's not strange. Pfizer owns the domain, but have not yet assigned an IP address to it, so those errors are what you'd expect.

Nothing strange at all.
