Yes all of US "news" channels and papers put there spin on how they want that particular piece of information to be viewed. With the worst being FOX and NBC yet there al bad in my humble opinion. So what I do is to read all of it and come to the best conclusion I cant from the fragmented slices I'm getting from each source.

Regardless of which source(s) you use, remember to always ask yourself "why am I being told this, why now and why this way?"

Admittedly, not all sources are reliable 100% of the time but sometimes it's what's behind the news that gives us the most information.

Trends, objectives, fear, opinions.....can ALL be manipulated with a single "is it really true" article at the right time and written in the right way.

Personally, I read the Daily Mail Online because it covers the most stories at a glance, Google News and Sky News because they offer all breaking news as it happens and use ATS to take me to the rest.

Of course, the more sources one uses the better and the examples I give are only a few and based on the fact that I lived in the UK.

One thing I try to do though is not take anything I read in the corporate press seriously until it's been varified by at least one or more other outlets. That's what's so good about this place.....we cover the world and aren't afraid to post not only a story, but an opinion too, and that counts for a lot.

Cheers.

CBC news is generally about as unbiased on world issues as it gets, though what is reported is always the question.www.cbc.ca...

Word is that the best world news can be had from the Al Jazeera English Service:
english.aljazeera.net...

...which is decidedly not to be confused with the Arabic service.

Grassroots journalists whose stories have evidence to back up their claims and are preferably confirmed by other grassroots journalists are the best sources of news.

Mainstream media news sources give people stupid poisoning, people are dumber for having watched, listened or read them. This is the case for a couple reasons. The most important reason is that they are co-opted by the government.

Operation Mockingbird was a CIA program designed to plant disinformation in MSM news sources and it was very successful. Even the most trusted man in America, Walter Cronkite, was co-opted by the CIA. Cronkite's CBS story UFO Friend, Foe, or Fantasy has been shown via FOIA released documents to have been compromised and had its conclusion set by the CIA. The conclusion of his report was fantasy even though there was incredibly compelling that the phenomenon is real.

Peter Jennings Reporting: UFOs -- Seeing Is Believing was another story likely compromised by the CIA in an effort to put out disinformation on the UFO subject. Instead of interviewing any of the government and defense contractor witnesses from the Disclosure Project Jennings interviewed the kookiest of the kooks.

Ask yourself why no mainstream media UFO special asks physicists and engineers to speculate or try and figure out how these UFOs are propelled. The governments controlling the media do not want the public thinking about it, they do not want the public to figure out how they work.

I realize you are in the U.K. and are referring to U.K. news sources but it is incredibly naive to think that the Mi5 or Mi6 has not also deeply compromised mainstream media news organizations in the U.K.

Which News is the best News?

Good news.

For example, if it were revealed that dolphins had learned how to talk and grew fur and wanted to snuggle and also to share their new technology that extracts enough energy from saltewater to power our entire civilization...

...that would be good news.

sources

i can trust

Oh.

I try to not come to beliefs based on any source other than my own observations, and sometimes not even then. Even deliberately false news and propaganda can be useful, as it informs you of what others want you to believe.

Ultimately, I think it's helpful to realize that the people delivering news don't necessarily know anything more than you or I do. It's possible that you and I may be wrong about things. Or we might not. The same is true of reporters, be they mainstream or otherwise.

Listen to everyone, but trust no information as "true" simpy because some particular source delivered it, regardless of that source.
