But what happens when the militias are fighting against the U.S. government? Who decides who the enemy is?

I read somewhere on here recently the supreme court upheld US citizens right to overthrow their own government.

I've often wondered if the government actually has any rights or powers to protect itself against a legitimate citizen uprising. I know about COG. I know about Northcom and FEMA.

But what if another revolution actually happens? At what point can/should the government stop fighting back? Do you think they would?

Well, the government did fight back, when the south seceded from the Union. It was called the Civil War. I think it would be unlikely that the government would stop fighting unless/until a vast majority of the population was against it, and maybe not even then.

You have to remember that the government has control of all the military, police, fire departments, etc. All the power structure. A bunch of guys and gals with shotguns would be hard put to fight them.

The irony is that the framers of the Constitution wanted to reserve the right of the people to rebel against a tyrannical government, just as they were rebelling against England.

My concern about a popular uprising is that not everybody would be fighting for the same thing. Some would be fighting for a severely limited government, some would be fighting for the dictatorship of the proletariat, some would be fighting for socialism, some would be fighting for no government at all. Some would be fighting to establish a theocracy, some to end all taxation, some to establish a dictatorship, and so on and so forth.

Just about everyone on ATS is angry at the government, but not for all the same reasons.

I think any sort of popular uprising here would quickly disintegrate into dozens, if not hundreds, of different factions. That's what happened to the Russian revolution which, as we all know, was ultimately won by the Bolsheviks.

It's easy to call for a revolution, but the fact is an even worse government might win.

I recently heard something about FEMA concentration camps. That subject fits well with this post. Can anyone help me make a connection?
