The sheriff of Bossier Parish, La. has organized a group of about 200 men to execute Project Exodus, a sort of law enforcement militia to serve in the event of a NWO or end-of-days scenario.

The equipment is presumably supplied from local Homeland Security stockpiles.

While Rachel Maddow finds a great deal of humor in this (and so do I), there is a legitimate Second Amendment issue here.

The framers of the Constitution clearly meant to enable local militias to take over in the event of an invasion by hostile forces.

But what happens when the militias are fighting against the U.S. government? Who decides who the enemy is?

Modern weapons would probably entail many more civilian deaths due to crossfire, etc. than would have occurred in the early days of the United States.

There seems to me an inherent danger when the Book of Revelations is crossed with the right to keep and bear arms, but is that the price of liberty?

I agree that there is some spin going on there. I also think that these old guys with pop bellies hitting a punching mat are not any more intimidating than a bunch of skinny guys climbing monkey bars wearing black hoods. It's like we got everybody in the world hating on each other. People calling Conspiracy Theorists the enemy now. Forgetting the fact they are creating a conspiracy of their own in that process.

Actually, those weekend lockup shows scare the crap out of me and make me not want to goto prison, and sort of feel bad for some of the hard luck cases there.

But I guess you will see what you want to in a documentry.

Actually, OPs...the problem here is that this apocolypse senario they are preparing for is not about the government being the enemy...its brown people.

In case of a terrorist attack, they will take to the street and protect the citizens from enemys within...not the military or anything...its a veiled racist religious organization..and thats why its potentially a problem...hense why almost all are old white guys, why it has a religious overtone, etc.

But hey, I am a loonie left that is sort of opposed to shooting anyone whom doesn't follow a particular religion or has a darker skin tone than me...I would be thinking like that. oh well.

Well, I could show you there weekday lineup.

I find any and all of the cops or prisons shows to be just like what you mentioned. Threats to the populace. Conform or this is where you will be.

What I should have said instead of leftist was totalitarianism. Left and right has the same penchant to get there.

Like I have alway said, just leave me the frell alone.

Want a left life move to California. Want a right life, move maybe to Texas.

That is where I hate where our fed has gone. We no longer have much of a choice, now the fed is trying to implement the same thing across the US.

Like I said, leave me the frell alone!

When it's not one of the dozen variations of Lockup it's something like Marijuana: dope in America or Porn: business of pleasure or one of several Sex Slaves in _____ shows.

Just seeing the programs title in the TV guide makes me wonder what sort of shirtless wierdos in their 6x9 apartments are doing push ups to the channel.

Thread dropped like a rock:

www.abovetopsecret.com...

Hope yours gets more results.

S&F to gain more attention on "Exodus" I think there's more here than ATS realizes.
I was flipping through Sirius radio while driving on Friday and was shocked to hear talking head *forget the name* bashing this Sheriff as if he's the reason for the latest 2 attacks of the Gov.

I made some comments on groups like this at :
www.abovetopsecret.com...

www.splcenter.org...
MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The number of extremist groups in the United States exploded in 2009 as militias and other groups steeped in wild, antigovernment conspiracy theories exploited populist anger across the country and infiltrated the mainstream, according to a report issued today by the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC).

Antigovernment "Patriot" groups - militias and other extremist organizations that see the federal government as their enemy - came roaring back to life over the past year after more than a decade out of the limelight.

The SPLC documented a 244 percent increase in the number of active Patriot groups in 2009. Their numbers grew from 149 groups in 2008 to 512 groups in 2009, an astonishing addition of 363 new groups in a single year. Militias - the paramilitary arm of the Patriot movement - were a major part of the increase, growing from 42 militias in 2008 to 127 in 2009.

Yes, there really should be local militias as per the US Constitution, however, these hate groups aren't it. Local militias should reflect the whole community, apolitically with no racist or creedal predisposition. Unfortunately, not many existing militias fit the criteria. The closest we seem to have are National Guard units, which are either deployed or reduced because of foreign adventures. In any case they would probably immediately come under federal orders any way, and sent to where ever the Pentagon or White House determines, most likely close enough to cover their own butts.

The nation can and probably will collapse suddenly because of economic reasons, like Greece. The EU is not going to bail out the US. US economy is teetering precariously. The rug can be pulled out at any time. The collapse will come so fast that many military troops on the other side of the world will be left to find their own ways home.

I wish to hell that any of these self-styled militias seemed good enough to join, but they seem to present more of a problem than a solution.

Before I posted my vid I did a search on "Project Exodus" and then just on "Exodus" and it did not turn up your thread.

I do not mean to step on your toes.

I will try to keep this subject alive this time as it deserves attention.

Thanks for your input.

Yes, I edited my OP to reflect that the number is nearer to 200 men (about 190-95).

I stand corrected.

Thanks, Watcher.

The race of the 195 white men is semi-reflective of the population of the city. (I believe the vid said 5 of the men were not white) Having the men in this militia be of a predominate race is not a sufficient criteria for the militia being racist.

I think everyone is missing the point here. The purpose of the militia is too beat YOU down if YOU get to crazy because of an apocalyptic world event. They're not fighting the terrorists, they're fighting us and calling it "keeping order."

WOW

This is right up ATS's alley yet it always gets buried so quick??

If anyone looks at the chaos surrounding any natural disaster (earthquakes) or civil unrest (LA. riots), IMO a strong community with some type of training and responsibility to the community is far better than the I CAN/WILL DO IT ON MY OWN mentality Is just dangerous to you, your family and community.

So what's wrong with this community being prepare? Are you prepared ATS and all those saying this group is wrong??
