In my opinion being asked if your going to blow the place up while a camera records your facial expression is not giving up any "essential liberties."
Also, it's not like this little trailer is judge, jury, and executioner. It's just an in depth screening process. It's not like you go to jail if your face turns red when they ask you if you have bomb. They will just ask you some more questions and check your bags more carefully.... If I own Giants stadium, and I want to ask you if you have a bomb before I let you in, and film your reaction, you want the government to tell me I cant because your civil liberties cannot be challanged in such an intrusive way? Play along or don't go.....
Ok, let's suppose a person had a stroke or extensive burns that distort facial features. Is that person not going to pass their test? One poster has already said he was told to leave his cane, a medical device, the next time he traveled. Unbelievable!
Forget about reading facial expression anyway. I promise you the right amount of Botox and other meds could make your face read like a mask. I bet a fist full of Valium, a shot of whiskey, and the right coaching on how to answer questions would foil their machine.
You say it's not like the trailer is the judge. Well, who is? Who decides who passes and who doesn't? Where do they take you? Are you put on a list? How long will it be before someone has the bloody pulp beaten out of them because they were, oops!, misidentified?
If you owned the Giants stadium you should be asking yourself why all these terrorists haven't already killed people there....or in the Mall of America...or in a big movie theater showing a new release, or hundreds of other places where it would SO EASY to commit a terrorist act OTHER THAN aboard an airplane.
Play along or don't go? Don't worry, I won't go. I won't subject myself to this humiliation and they won't get my money either.

Okay, well, all security from metal detectors to police as well as all government imposed standards of safety would violate some interpretation of that quote.

What is the problem that any of you guys even have with this? Did you watch the same video I did? You don't think an entertainment venue or airline should be allowed to ask you if you're planning on setting off a bomb while they record your reaction? Which do you think is more violating; letting them ask you or making it illegal for them to ask you?
Do you think that it should be made illegal for airlines and sports arenas to take this kind of action to protect themselves? You can't ask people if they are planning on killing people while they are there because it takes five minutes and some people think it's an invasion of privacy?
The idea that your right to privacy should be extended to the point that you cannot be asked if your going to commit a crime while on camera at a place that you went to voluntarily is crazy. Don't go there if you think some essential right is being violated.
And what's with all the talk of polygraphs? There were no polygraph machines the in video. So what if polygraphs don't work? Pointing that out is completely irrelevant this proposal. Palm readers don't work well either, but since that's not what they are talking about using it has nothing to do with this conversation.

It's not like you go to jail if your face turns red when they ask you if you have bomb. They will just ask you some more questions and check your bags more carefully. How can you possibly take the position that you have the right to not be asked if you are going to commit a crime, when you are entering private property? If I own Giants stadium, and I want to ask you if you have a bomb before I let you in, and film your reaction, you want the government to tell me I cant because your civil liberties cannot be challanged in such an intrusive way? Play along or don't go. You can stay as private as you want. Flying in an airplane isn't a fundamental right any more than going to the moon is a fundamental right. It is a service provided by a company, and that company can place any conditions it wants on that service.

I'm so sick of everyone being looked at like criminals. We are americans dammit. It's time we started acting like it. You have no right to treat us this way and we are tired. Take your damn future machine and sit and spin. Your invasive BS isn't going to help your cause. What it is going to do is increase the number of people domesticaly that want to bring you down.
Say it with me now
I pledge allegance to the constitution of the united states of america. And to all the freedoms for which it stands. All americans united under a banner of freedom, pissed off with not much patience left for you.
