The world my dear Muckster has gone mad ... it's absolutley no different to me saying something like ... oh, I don't know ... something like ... 'Johnny Depp, marks out of 10 ... I'd give him 1'.

Is that sexist ... hell yes ... but it's also a joke ... people are too damn serious. And of course women do this kind of thing.

Woody (now what mark shall I give you) ???

This is absolutely about feminism. Before we had to get all "equal" both males and females would "grade" the opposite sex. Now men have to be guarded about what they say around women and feminized men.

Yes the admin may have male genitalia, but what does that really mean? If the privileged class gets mad and the admin doesn't do anything, they could lose their jobs.

Not feminism? Well I guess here on earth we have a different opinion of what feminism is.

Feminism and priveleged class are really two completely different topics.

I dont like the word feminist, because it has such a gut reaction to it, like is evidenced in this thread.

I consider myself a very strong female, and the term I like to use is femicentric. I am female, so of course I favor female issues, they directly affect me. I am very pro woman, but I am pro human and pro civil rights as well, and that is for both sexes.

I have a feeling a lot of people on this board (if familiar with my posts that is) assume I am a feminist. I'm not.

To address the "grading game" I am a 40 yr old female, and me and girl friends play this game all the time. I play it with my guy friends too, and I have played the "omg can you believe she wore THAT" game too. Its shallow passing of time, and totally NOT WORTHY of being suspended over!

So I will have to agree to disagree this topic has anything to do with feminism.

I just sadly see a bunch of guys taking this chance to generically and with broad brush bash women under pretense of outrage over feminism.

Sadder still is I see this attitude A LOT on ATS.

Yall, there are a bunch of women on this board, and we are great ladies. Some posters with ambiguous names I have been surprised to find out were fellow females.

I realize equality of the sexes is a heated topic and very worthy of respectful discussion. But it gets tiresome reading gratuitous female bashing disguised as so called debate (and often off topic).

Just my opinion, and not personally meant to ruffle feathers or be mean, and I hope my post further expands on how a real female (possibly mislabeled feminist) actually sees herself.

And I will add this.

I appreciate seeing it regardless, because as a strong woman I know I have come across and been misunderstood to be possibly anti man, and nothing could be further from the truth. I am raising a couple of them!! So I have actually tried to think about what I say and how I word my responses so I dont come across as a man hater or something I am not.

In the OP I feel the major issue to be angry about is gross invasion of privacy and an outrageous suspension that COULD ruin an academic career (if suspension is long enough, falls on a major test day etc).

This has nothing to do with feminism or women trying to tell men how to act.

I agree the invasion of privacy is an important issue. But I believe there is a link to Feminism in the story. Which ideology forces down our throats that women are not objects, women are not to be subjected to criticism, women are equal? Feminism. Why does this story make the news? Why is it emphasised that males sent emails objectifying females?

Why is negative behaviour done by males involving females always highlighted and emphasised by the media? Probably because the Feminist Movement has such a big influence on the media and how news is portrayed.

BTW I would bet most of the people involved with this suspension decision have male genitalia.

The media plays a big role in this. Men are made to feel ashamed for the way their hormones affect their mood and behaviour. They are reminded over and over again of the bad behaviour of male sports stars and celebrities. They are continually named and blamed as aggressors.

If men do not publically denounce behaviour that Feminists consider sexist and offensive towards women, men will be attacked by Feminists for doing nothing about the behaviour. They then are accused of adding to the problem of creating negative images about women.

--------------

PS: Being anti-Feminism is NOT the same as being anti-Women. When people raise valid criticisms about Feminism, often they are labelled as being anti-women and anti-women's rights. This is a deflection technique to demonise those who are against Feminism and the ideology that drives it.

For further clarification

From Sky News

As well as derogatory commentary about female freshers, the posters revealed the club's humiliating rituals, which include forcing students to perform a naked streak, while smeared in goose fat and eating raw squid.

A university spokesman said the allegations were being taken very seriously and an investigation had been launched.

"The students have been temporarily suspended as part of that process but that is not to say that it is a punishment or a judgement against them at this stage," he said.

"It's part of the process of the investigation. We are still trying to get to the bottom of it all."
