Private means none of anyone else's business. Unless there's evidence that the women are in danger or are threatened, then my message to oxford is to mind your own business! A grading list is no more than saying which girl you like or don't fancy, that's all. And since when was that a crime.

Reminds me of the episode of South Park where the girls rated the boys. Typical adults acting like children again. Many people don't understand how immature they're acting till it's right in their faces.

No I guess it's not sexist to treat a whole series of the opposite gender to a scaling program. How stupid are these people for thinking that grading equally standing peers based solely on their attractiveness to interest towards sex could be degrading.

Men are programed by "evolution" to be sexist pigs, as are women in their own way. But it seems anything that is negative directed towards the privileged class is dealt with quickly and harshly. While the privileged class can act with almost impunity.

That story didn't really say much. Hard to know what the "secret" in the email was.

However, I don't really think it's "sexist" - "piggish" maybe, but not "sexist"...

Unless there is something more to this, the University seems to have overreacted. The investigation should have taken place PRIOR to a suspension.

This is about college admins invading privacy and possibly ruining these young men's careers.

I am not surprised there is so much violence at educational campuses, with idiots like these clowns running the show. BTW I would bet most of the people involved with this suspension decision have male genitalia.

Let your 2" of hair down and relax. People don't talk to somebody else in a bar because they have a great personality from across the room. It's very prude to try and deny that people judge others on how attractive they are, its built into us.

I'm sorry you are not comfortable enough with sex that this would offend you. I'm also sure that based on your comments you could never have thought one person was more attractive then another.

A few caveats before I begin:

I am male
I absolutely adore the physical aesthetics of women, and I admire them at every chance.

However, this activity is sexist, and the fact that none of you seem to be able to comprehend that is a huge part of the reason that sexism is still such an issue.

They are ranking these women based on nothing more than their physical beauty. This is pretty much the very definition of Objectification; treating the women like objects. Now, it's likely that the gents in question don't actually think of the women so awfully, but they are still treating them that way in this situation. Were it smply that they were talking about how attractive the women are, it would be a very different situation; but they are actually giving certain women more worth for these qualities. Not. Good.

The problem we should really be dealing with is the fact that the university was monitoring these students emails. That's pretty messed up.

Imho it is sexist ... for the College to single out women as a sex which requires greater protection than men. For that is in fact what they are doing, basically saying that women are to weak to handle idiotic emails from college students.

So to recap ...

Students = Juvenile asshats who ned to get some game and grow up
College = Sexist
Women = Awesome!
