Thank you for that.

That cleared up the murky waters of confusion, that were drifting through my head.

That was terrible. Dam you for infecting peoples minds with that.
You people need to get beyond your labels.... socialist, capitalist,communist....... All different ways of achieving the same thing.

I think believing Obama is a socialist is a reasonable position to have. Not USSR socialist, but a western European democratic socialist, sure.

He's said that if he were building our health care system from scratch, he would make it single payer.

More tellingly,

He's said that the constitution is flawed because it does not guarantee access to healthcare and other "free" things.

This is typically called a "positive liberty", a fundamental idea of democratic socialists.

He may act like a moderate who considers many sides, but I think in reality he is a fairly strong progressive at heart, I don't think he'll be able to do what Clinton did, pivoting and accepting a variety of market-oriented reforms.

Anyways, as a libertarian, what has really dissapointed me more than anything is his rather stunningly strong support for war and the police state, even expanding it in many ways. I don't think he has dictatorial tendencies, but what he's done is given a massive, bipartisan rubber stamp to the acceptability of these things. Imagine what would happen if we get a Republican like Rudy Giuliani or Dick Cheney in office. Ouch.

Anyway, overall I'd say he's sort of like the British Labour party, that is, a pro-statist, pro-internationalist-statist, in nearly much every way, and not really understanding what liberty really is.

(For the unfamiliar, the Labour Party was started by the Fabian Society, was always in favor of an imperialist foreign policy in order to spread their ideology. The Liberal Democrats, the other major of the three parties (the third being the conservatives), is also a leftist party and always gets a very substantial number of votes, even though if the two parties merged or if Britain switched to proportional representation, leftists would never lose an election in Britain.

The reason is, The liberal democrats take their inspiration from J.S. Mill, who while a leftist, was a strong defender of individual liberty, non-interventionism, and, in fact, an economist who adamantly defended the free market, and a most other things typically attributed to pure libertarians. His book, "On Liberty" is a classic, I think it's great even though I disagree with Mill's somewhat socialist turn later in life.

I'll submit that whether she's 'real' or an act, she's nowhere near as as annoying as Al Franken and his Gawd-awful, "Stuart Smalley" character.

Wow! She looks and sounds like Cyndi Lauper. I haven't seen her since she left SNL, but I didn't find her to be very funny then. Watching her interact with the other members of the panel, I kept thinking, "This has to be an act. It has to be." It reminded me of Andy Kaufman's guest appearances in the '80's. I always wondered how much was an act and how much was genuine craziness.

That's because we're all sending it to our republican friends and trying to make their day! It will be a quick kill on this disease. Watch.
It is amusing that some are quick to be insulting and disrespectful and others who show restraint decorum and respect may or may not agree but they are in the silent majority.
On the left, there is no voice yelling loudly heralding a good cause now that the Kennedy's (who care) are dead.
They (we) are sensible silent waiting.

I remember thinking all throughout life when ever there was a good thing, spontaneous fun with a group of people interacting together or a party or a work environment…
there would so often be just one thing, one person usually, that made it imperfect.
In all those groups...where ever they may be and whatever we were doing...There was always at least one (forgive me) ass hole.

I appreciated all the rest of the great people I met and dealt with interactively or else I would be an ungrateful cad myself but I remember thinking it was ironic, there always had to be “ants at a picnic.”

Yet again...and more importantly...
In almost every group, event, encounter throughout life...that required cooperation and teamwork

I remember being so shocked and really surprised at how quickly people do come together and solve big problems with an efficiency that gives me goose bumps right now to remember and think about now.

Like after 9/11 and after Hurricane Hugo. The Red Cross, FEMA, our hotel providing food and shelter for the locals and emergency personnel. St John is the friendliest island but even so it is well known many locals just tolerate whites as best they can. However when the Alabama linemen came to restore power they were offering them sandwiches, thanks and praise. People helping people. What we do in those circumstances is what it’s all about. This is the big secret. When we do that…we rule.

UNRELATED PEOPLE COMING TOGETHER TO ACCOMPLISH GREAT THINGS WORKING AS IF OF ONE MIND. A GROUP THINK.
But other than the gang mentality or mob rule or mob think that causes death and violence you see on the news so often these days...
THIS PHENOMENA WORKED WITH THE SAME SYNERGY

(the sum of the parts is GREATER THAN the whole)
in the opposite direction.

What we could accomplish together if we just got along?????
That is what THEY DO NOT WANT YOU TO KNOW.

Who is this mysterious THEY?

This is anybody and everybody stopping you from hugging your brother.

I only need three words to describe this.

Fear
Manipulation
Lies

And how is this different from all the Palin hit threads?

Same three items you mentioned are in play

Fear - fear Palin might run and get elected
Manipulation - Repeating false information often enough so that people begin to believe it
Lies - this one needs no further explanation - see #2

Just asking ...

To deny hypocrisy, if you're OK with all the Palin threads, you can't have any problem with this one.

The only place I've heard about this song so far is on this fringe conspiracy theory message board. Absolutely nothing is going to go "viral on the web" from Birther/Theocracy Central (otherwise known as World Net Daily).

Victoria Jackson is just as nutty if not moreso than even the most radical people who post to this board. At various points over the last two years she's compared Obama to Hitler and typed on her website that he "bears traits that resemble the anti-Christ." In other words she's exactly like Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, or any other insane conservative pundit. The difference being she doesn't have a weekly show to spew her drivel into public areas.

I say let her continue to make a fool of herself like all the others. If Mrs. Jackson and all the others think that saying outrageous things will lead to Republicans or some other type of social conservatives regaining control of the Federal government they have another thing coming. Moderates and Independent voters move away from all who speak so radically and they're the deciding factor when it comes to general election. Unless Victoria is advocating violent revolution as so many of them seem to do these days.

Looking around the net about this I would have to say it is NOT just on Rightwigh Nut boards.

There are about 1,170,000 news hits about the song etc.

On the Going Vival claim. I will say that maybe stretching it-at this point in time. Just looking on YouTube, she had 117,000+ plays. Apparently vival is when a video is viewed over a million. [Which by the way went up from 111,790 when I first got on the check about 15 mins time elapsed].

Now, I don't know if YouTube can calulate how much a video is played when displayed at another source-like the origianl article I posted from World Net Daily. Anyone know if those views can be noted by You Tube (assuming they are the partent source etc?)

Now on the general negative comments I have see and read, they seem to attach Ms. Jackson personally and not about the content of the words in the song. IMO a standard tact. used: Kill the Messenger

I would love good ole' CNN do one of their famous Fact Checks on the statements made in the song.

Much as news stations currently do not dissect the ramblings of conservative pundits on a daily basis, the same will not be done for the ramblings of Victoria Jackson. That would be akin to a news station trying to find out if a guy sitting out in the street wearing a "Repent! The End is Near" sandwich board and screaming at anybody unlucky enough to pass near him is right or not. There is no need to put resources into lunacy.

There may very well be a Communist in the White House....

but there are a bunch of troglodytes who sit on the right side of the aisle on Capital Hill who stand for 19th century ideals like free markets always allocate resources efficiently.

Sadly, yes. Half these people cannot even tell you what socialism is though. They just think it's bad because of residual cold war programming. People in this country see the gov. doing anything as socialism. Yet if you ask these same people if England is socialist, they'll tell you "no, they're our ally."

The fact that Americans see a healthcare system in which the insurance companies profit and not the government, as socialist, is just sad. The media is this countries enemy, not Obama.
