You should rather open your hand, willingly lending enough to meet the need, whatever it may be. Deuteronomy 15: 8

I the Wanderer
lost in a wilderness
struggling with directions
cry out in desperation.

Open your hand.

I call with words of doom
all to a mute response.

The people are cattle
swayed only by thoughts
of self
and grass.

On street corners and concrete jungles they trod
close-fisted and tight
mindless with selfish desires

Can I alone see it?
the shameless, heartless
cattle-crunching frenzy?

Open your hand.

Here I stand, destitute
the sojourner, widow, homeless, orphan
hungering for a glance
a glimmer of recogniction.

Where is the spark of understanding?
the glint of cherished hope?

It lies dull and listless
trampled into mud by grazing cattle

don't you understand?

My prophecy laid bare:

God is on the side of the underdog.

Take my hand

As fingers each to hold you

A cry of joy will escape you

As i view your homecoming.

Take my hand

For thru my fingers run veins of love

From my heart.

With your hand I will learn

with your hand I will eat

with your hand I will grow and become

and extend a hand to others

All the hatred that may be
take my hand and you will see

Behind the hatred there is love
Inside the person there is a dove

A dove of peace and of trust
If they just look behind the lust

the lust of money the lust of lies
They could stop this if they would try

So take my hand and you will see
The perfect world that could be
