Schools are 'perfect killing fields' says laser skirmish company

SCHOOLS hiring their grounds out to laser skirmish companies have come under fire and even have the Prime Minister scratching his head.

A skirmish company website which promoted some Queensland schools as perfect "killing fields" has hit a sour note with a public already reeling from the recent schoolyard stabbing death of 12-year-old Elliott Fletcher.

Now debate is ranging as to whether laser games should be allowed on school grounds.

Prime Minister Kevin Rudd today questioned its validity as a way of raising money for schools.

Hilarious stuff... it's all over the local news at the moment.

Unfortunately, a 12 year-old student was recently stabbed to death in a QLD school. It's a rare piece of extreme violence in Australian schools and it allowed everyone to play out the 'fear' card for more than it was worth.

Given that, there's a lot of backlash about some schools hiring out their grounds for laser-tag style games.

Laser-tag is fun! It's all harmless. I'd rather have my kids running around playing laser-tag, than sitting in front of a PS3.

It seems that the days where kids run around the streets, shooting each other with plastic guns, are obsolete.
