Have a feeling this might be a lively thread
In real-life though, most of us (if we hear about this sort of rubbish at all) keep on moving, working, paying the bills, raising our kids, being good
neighbours and citizens
Most of us believe that these 'insults-purporting-to-be-'art' involve only a few head-cases and sicko politician-supporters
'We' (most of us) don't attend such events or patronise galleries/theatres which feature them
That's how they get away with it, with degrading society inch by sordid inch
For a while, I'd 'had enough', after wasting time at the 'art' gallery funded by my council-rates and taxes. I made it a point to express my
opinions (briefly, civilly) in the Visitors' Book. This occurred after the local-council wasted my money on a series of old bicycle seats coarsely
adorned with 'found objects', primarily magpie feathers from the local park, which had been produced by someone who decided they were 'an
artist'
Well, after I said my little piece in the gallery Visitors' Book a couple of times, I was basically monstered by a gang from Friends of the Gallery.
They were dripping with Avon perfume and hair-spray and adorned in a hideous selection of lurid polyesters and plastic beads. They 'expunged' my
very mild comments from the Visitors' Book
I entered some heated communication with the local Council as result. Used my vote as a weapon. Amazing how the power-drunk suddenly switch-tack
when confronted by the power-of-the-vote. It's really something to see
So those who don't feel a lump of human excreta on a stick or naked lesbians wrestling in jelly with gorillas exemplifies 'art' --- use your power
of the vote
