Right ... having gone through the exhaustive google search process I haven't been able to find an answer to my question so I thought I'd ask you nice folks if you can help me.

Is anyone aware of a Shazam! type application for mac OSX?

For those that don't know, Shazam is a app for portable devices like iphone/bb which allows you to use the mic of the device to identify songs playing on the radio, pc, tv, etc.

What I basically need is a plugin type software which can recognize tracks that I'm playing on my itunes.

Any suggestions?

Edit to add: If you are familiar with windows software/plugin that does the same thing that's also great as I could use it on mrs sdog's laptop or run it on the mac.

Have you had a look at Tunatic?
There is also iEatBrainz - (not me, the software)
And best of all they are both shareware.

Edit to add: I haven't tested these, have no idea how good they are.

Let us know what you find. I also would like a windows 6.1 mobile app that can ID songs using the mic.
