It must be on your end. I'm having no difficulty at all and the pages are loading really fast via Windows.

I'm typing right now to test your theory and my cursor is right where it should be, blinking patiently, waiting for my input like a good hunting dog on point. Absolutely no lag whatsoever... In fact, the only time I've ever experienced that kind of lag, it wasn't on ATS and it was a temporary problem with my browser.

edited for typo and to add: fast loading time for me too.

It don't happen with me. Have you checked your internet connection? Because sometimes when I spend a long time online my connection seems to lag a little.

check your router, reset your modem, wait five minutes, then turn it back on, it could be lagging due to high bandwidth usage, do you have any music players or any other internet streaming devices on?

Did you just upgrade to firefox 3.6?
I seemed to have a bad lag problem, long loading times, with ATS after I had upgraded firefox recently. I solved it by switching my browser to google chrome.

If your using mozilla then these simple tweaks might help

*In a new tab window type:

about:config

(Dont be alarmed at the dialogue it shows just press "ill be careful"

*Locate the following entries and change as shown

network.http.pipelining to true

network.http.proxy.pipelining to true

network.http.pipelining.maxrequests to some number like 30.
This means it will make 30 requests at once.

To finish your tweaking just right-click anywhere and select New->Integer.

Name it nglayout.initialpaint.delay and set its value to 0 (Zero)
This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it receives.

Have fun :-D

I heard that if you watch a whole bunch of porn on your PC it will lag like 10X slower than normal.

I'm sure than isn't the case with yours though.

The only thing lagging here recently is the Alice in Wonderland animated ads.

Either they were designed to be choppy, or I got some flash lag issues, but everything else is fast as usual.

Great info, Thank you, I am wondering why I wasn't aware of this feature, am usually pretty up on the tweeks.

You should start a thread on these about:config tweeks, this is pretty resourceful info to avid Firefox users. I found a few sites that have a lot of tweeks other than the ones you mentioned.

I would do it, but it is your thunder so to speak.

I am going to U2U this as well.

Did you try uninstalling your floppy disc drive and then rebooting it through DOS? It worked for me.

I've noticed this happening in conjunction with some of the ads. Specifically the animated Sprint ads, and recently the Alice ads that seem to take over the browser until the animation runs it's course.

I think what it boils down to is the system you're working with and the current level it is operating on based on numerous variables.

On that note: In response to tristar's informative information regarding the FireFox tweaks I made a dedicated thread on the subject, for those that are interested...

Advanced FireFox Tweaks!
