G'day

How good is this thing.....

What a blast & what a clever guy.....

And it's for sale!

What do you think.....NZ$20,000.....is it a bargain "excitement machine"?

Stuff.co.nz

www.stuff.co.nz...

The machine was designed and built by Nelson's Rudy Heeman and with more than 5000 hits, has reached its reserve price of $20,000.

Mr Heeman, a mechanic, has been making hovercraft in his spare time for more than 13 years but says this is his first attempt at a flying version.

He said he has spent 75 hours flying his hovercraft, and the thrill is unreal. "It's like a bungy jump, however the thrill lasts as long as the ride," he said.

"This machine is fast and furious, it roars like a lion, and is not for the 'faint hearted'. It is adrenalin pumping and exciting."

With a 1.8-litre engine and a range of over 225km, the flying hovercraft cruises at 90kmh when flying, and has a smooth ride above the waves, he said

I have news for that “Inventor”…
Ground effect aircraft have existed for a very long time…
Check out this one:

The Russian granddaddy of them all:

I mean the guy built a neat toy, but its going rather far to say he invented it, and its unique.

Hey defcon5, he never claims to have invented it, but rather the news guy called him an inventor. Maybe you should have watched the video before spouting off.

“Reporter Allison Langder (sp?) found its slightly eccentric inventor in New Zealand and thankfully lived to tell the tale.”

The genius, and madman at the controls is Rudy Heaben (sp?). He built this contraption from scratch. Its one of a kind, and its for sale.

Lets rewind a little to where it all started…
This is my flying hovercraft project…
A gurage, spare parts, and a firtile mind…

It is absolutely stated that he is ITS inventor…
Hoverwings and ground effect aircraft have been around for a very long time, all this man did was use other peoples plans to build something, then act like he invented it. PERIOD…

G'day defcon5

Did Rudy Heaben claim he invented it?

Or was that claim made by the news service?

Man I would also love one of these hoverboats. Nice find Maybe...maybe not.

This link quoted here shows a jet pack as well as this hoverboat and I must say.

Jet pack > hovercraft imo
