For all Citigroup account holders.....

"Effective April 1, 2010, Citigroup will reserve the right to require (7) days advance notice before permitting a withdrawal from all checking accounts. While they do not currently exercise this right and have not exercised it in the past, they are required by law to notify customers of this change," Citigroup are saying this on all statements sent out to customers all over the US.

Looks like they are starting to put controls in place.

PEACE,
RK

I think this has already been posted.

Fun fact, banks no longer are required to carry any cash reserves on hand. So if you, say, go to your bank and ask to empty your account and for them to denominate it in $100.00 bills, they may not even have the cash on hand, nor are they required to have the cash on hand.

You can still have it transfer to another bank, or possibly wait for them to acquire the cash, but it makes the idea of a run on the bank near impossible, as the vaults have largely already been emptied of cash.
