The Bible is an ancient set of documents , that appear
to be encoded as parables of the underlying truth .
The story of Noah , and the Flood , could be a
warning to mankind of a 2012 , extinction event ,
brought about by God , in His righteousness .
Maybe , the benevolent races of aliens , are angels
of God , watching and waiting for the right time ,
to rescue a faithful remnant of mankind , from
a Divine maelstrom , that cleanses the earth of evil.
To return and repopulate the planet , humans and
animals , after a predetermined interval.
I think the Flood was a metaphor for this ....
[where did all the water go]?
i.e ... not water , but something else ...
... a local freezing of time , or instant Ice age ?

what do you think ?

Uh, oooookay.

Where did you come up with the bible warning about 2012 crap?

Tell me that before we'll discuss the rest of your OP.

The teachings in the scriptures are regarding the spiritual cycles of mankind. We do tend to repeat them, however, the images appear different according to the specific parts and time involved.

The story of Noah is a copy of older stories that are similar.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm...........now, I am not the most religiously educated person, but didn't God tell Noah after the flood waters began to recede that the rainbow was the sign that God would not destroy the world with water, again, but instead, next time it would be with fire? Not much ice to be seen with a lot of fire? Tell me more, please.

Yes, God did tell Noah that. But the Bible is fiction and influenced from Pagan sources.

I guess this thread is a joke? Unless you and the OP are serious?

.... there is so much conjecture about 2012
that I chose this as an arbitrary date .
.... the world is a monumental mess ...
emphasis , on the mental , and it seems to
be winding up to something , that has been
foretold in many other ancient manuscripts .
.... as for the rainbows .... mmm
they seem to be a physical effect of light
spectrum dividing through water droplets .
... surely rainbows have always existed .

I've always thought it was BS, since, well, I guess about the age of 4 or 5, but, well, just for the sake of the flood and Noah and stuff, I thought it would be interesting to respond. And to ask for more info from the OP about it all. Know what I mean?

Cute avatar, by the way.

I both hope this is and isn't a joke. If it is, please stop wasting our time... no need for it. If it isn't, tell me what's so special about 2012 concerning your belief and where does the bible mention 2012?

Ah, yes, as I recall, faintly, there have been a few older stories about a great flood of sorts from various cultures. Perhaps one day there will be a Book of Katrina, about God or gods punishing people for their sins. Oh, wait, I think that has already been covered by the likes of Pat Robertson, or some such person.

No, no I doubt it very seriously. It is generally accepted, archeologically speaking, that a regional flood did occur in the Middle East and that a story sort of like Noah did occur (though without all the supernatural shenanigans and certainly not on anything even approaching a global scale).

It is also entirely unrelated to 2012 as it happened thousands of years in the past and thousands of years before the Mayan Calendar (the Calendar which, I might add, does not actually predict any 2012 Doomsday event).

Also, there is nothing righteous about the actions of God in the story as it is told in Genesis. Rather than redeeming his creations he instead wipes them clean in a horrific flood drowning and killing hundreds of thousands, if not millions, including every man woman and child and most of the animals.

I'm afraid I'm not quite sure what you're getting at here.

According to this the OP is a troll, or off his meds. If i am wrong please start making sense and type like a normal person.

It is today just as in the days of Noah building the Ark.
The dimensions are the same as the Ark of Noah.

The Ark will be opened during the Olympics in 2012 !!!!!

I just don't think so. Why hide this in scripture? They have no problem prophesying anything else in the Bible. Revelations tells of some cataclysmic events without sparing us the ugly details. Why would writers have a problem or feel the need to hide this information...unless the whole book is deliberately misleading garbage meant to confuse people about the future?

I sincerely think originally the authors of the various books meant their writing to be an aid to humanity. Either in it's assembly or in later translation of an already "biased" assembly the Bible was likely perverted and corrupted. There was the method the means and the reason.
