Missile agency's 'crescent moon' logo scares right-wingers

rawstory.com

The conservative blogosphere is abuzz about the new logo of the US Missile Defense Agency, which they say looks suspiciously similar to both the Obama campaign logo and the crescent moon typically seen on Islamic flags. On Wednesday, the Drudge Report posted a picture of the agency's new logo -- a blue crescent with a wave of red stripes emerging from it -- above pictures of the Obama campaign logo and a crescent moon and star, a typical theme on flags of Islamic nations.

The images are here

Well i don't know if this is just propaganda or they are on to something. It looks rather similar especially with the star and all.

They pretty much believe that since Obama's administration put an effort into reducing America’s missile defense capabilities , this logo just says something about the administration's resolve against certain middle eastern countries.

I personally don't know what to make out of this.
Thoughts?

I fixed your link for you.

Obama is probably scratching his head and saying, 'Darn I get it now!'.

I'm glad you started a thread on this. I too, found it curious.

Haven't had time to connect the dots, but the story I heard on the radio today mentioned "1410" and "solarian gate".

Don't know if that means anything. Maybe I heard it wrong?

Perhaps someone else can figure it out before I do.

Maybe Salarian gate?

Porta Salaria was part of the Aurelian Walls built by emperor Aurelian in the 3rd century, including pre-existing constructions in order to hasten the works. Under it passed the Via Salaria nova, which joined the Via Salaria vetus ("Old Via Salaria") outside the city. The gate had a single passage and was flanked by two semi-circular towers. The Horti Sallustiani were located in the city just inside the gate.

1410 ..hmm something significant , the defeat of the Teutonic Knights? I don't know. Where did you hear about this?

The logo is certainly meant to have a likeness to the Obama campaign logo. Since both cost a lot of money to design it's impossible for no one to have not noticed the likeness when they were making it.

It reminds me of places like China where they make every military and political thing the same colour.

Wow... Yes, it's only Republicans who see the similarity. 100%. Nobody else can possibly have that interpretation. Additionally, anyone who draws that conclusion is a total idiot. /Sarcasm.

FWIW, I only think it resembles the Obama logo. I did some further research and found that the logo existed in 2008. I don't really care either way.

What I do care about are all the stupid people who are going to call all left-wingers communists and the rest of the stupid people who will call the right-wingers nuts.

Was this ridiculous article worth printing? Yes. Now I have an even better understanding of how idiotic staunch supporters of either side can be.

Yeah, just imagine if the U.S. started using red, white, and blue on like...everything.

New here?

I think it was on today's Lar's Larson radio program.

Heard it "in passing",but curious to see what he may have meant.

Thanks for asking.

Compare the old MDA logo with the new one:

The old MDA logo shows a Soviet / Chinese ballistic missile zapped into oblivion in space.

The new MDA logo shows an Islamic ballistic missile orbiting and hitting Earth.

Given the crescent-shaped earth in the logo, it suggests that an Islamic nation would launch a nuke-tipped missile on the United States.

So until Matt Drudge posted it on his site no other news agency or organization thought it was news worthy.

So his statement that the blogersphere was a buzz was made up.
It wasn't even noticed by anyone until he made it news.

Must have been a slow news day until the Killer Shark ate the girl.

They changed the logo 2 years ago, before the election.

Conservative Americans that don't like the Administration will not be baited by something like this.

Okay, here are the images at the heart of the controversy:

The Missile Defense Agency logo does resemble something, but I'm not sure it's either Obama's logo or the Islamic star and crescent...

AH-HA!

I have it...

Man, I've got a good memory. I'd be willing to bet that somebody at the Missile Defense Agency (or whoever they contracted to do the graphics) did a modernized variation of the Federation's Starfleet Command emblem. Even has the same upsweeping gesture to the stars.

Got a Trekker out there working the gubbmint on contract.

People, THIS is how you infiltrate government, through contract. HA!

I dont really buy into this kind of thing but for some reason this made me raise a eyebrow. Something wicked may be coming this way. Thankfully some of us are at least open to the possibility of it. And to the one's that are not they will be remembered. It's a good thing not to go off the deep end with this kind of stuff but it is just as bad to stick your head in the sand.

Good observation . And i am sure they know what they are doing , i mean they have all the intel. It is kinda obvious now that they change it as the enemies change , but why the missle striking? striking them or us? I guess we'll find out

It just reminds me of Obama's campaign logo. That itself doesn't surprise me a bit with this bunch of egomaniacs in charge. I suppose its a little disturbing from that standpoint, but there are so many things about this administration that are 'disturbing' that this rates pretty darn low on the list.

I really think the logo in question is a victim of poor timing and marketing. Any one of the accusations/conspiracy theories/ fringe ideas would seem paranoid hysteria if taken one at a time.... HOWEVER, can you blame those people..the conspiracy theorists like us.... for raising eyebrows and questioning such things when seen as a whole?

for instance:
-Obama's critics labal him a socialist/communist/facist and latent Muslim
-Obama did attend Muslim based boarding schools
-Obama's father was a Muslim
-Obama's paternal grand parents were Muslim
-Obama has reached out greatly to Muslim nations
-Obama has ignorred the freedom/anti-theocracy revolution in Iran
-Obama seems to distance himself from Israel, anti-Israel policy
-Obama surrounds himself and staff with avowed
socialist/communist/radicals
-His czars are madeup of intellectuals that have published support for
euthanasia, global government, rationing healthcare, questioned loyalty
to our own country

I could go on, but what's the point? So when a conservative or a moderate or even a conspiracy theorist sees the new logo, it is just one more "brick in the wall" of suspicion. Many people go by the old adage..."if it walks like a duck, and talks like a duck, and has feathers like a duck.... it's probably a duck." So to many Americans, we see the pond, we see the ducks... is hunting season far away?
