DNA databases are fast becoming one of the hottest topics around.

In order to build the databases, the authorities have long since resorted to nefarious tactics and indeed, outright lies.

This case is especially worrying, because it is the armed forces who are building the database - but for what purpose?

In the UK, the police (despite a legal obligation to do so) do NOT in many cases destroy DNA samples, and are in the process of building their own criminal database - my concern is why it is always done via the back door.

If there is nothing sinister happenning, why the need for secercy, why the lies, why the disinfo?

For the armed forces to hold and build a database is extremely worrying - at some point in the future, selective recruitment or a draft using DNA profiling could become a reality.

How much information do we need to give away before we have no freedoms left at all?

The goal of western governments seems to be total control and knowledge of their citizens - good job we won the cold war, eh...
