As for Canadians and Americans, or any country and America for that matter I would like to say this....

There are ALOT of us in America that cannot stand the way our Government treats other countries, and PLEASE see how our own GOVERNMENT is treating it's own people. Just as the US Government is no longer the VOICE of it's people, We are not the mindset of our Government. Our own Government did not think twice about killing it's own people on 9/11. Just remember MOST of us American's love our country, our freedoms that are almost gone and hold dear our Constitution. Our Government is treating us like we are the enemy too.

Canada, Great game against Russia yesterday, you played amazing....you should be VERY PROUD.

Rates rising sounds logical but please take a minute to think about this. How many times in our history have rates risen? Have you ever heard of a time in our lifetime that a bank told you, We want a SEVEN DAY NOTICE to WITHDRAW YOUR money from your OWN checking account? I am 46 and have never heard this and have seen rates rise numerous times. Just food for thought. Not saying your ideas are not valid or possibly correct. I just feel we reason RED FLAGS away and use hindsight way too often then feel, WOW should have seen that coming. LOL

Also, to our neighbors to the north and south that might rejoice at the fall of America, don't think a line in the sand will stop the millions of refugees from pouring into your countries. The effects of a fall will not just be monetary and you will suffer with us in all the ways that we will suffer.

Easy there tiger.

True, there is no line in the sand dividing the US from Canada. Most of the country however regularly gets more snow than you can probably imagine in a season where it warms up to -20 (that's C not F).

I can't speak about Mexico, but there would be no rejoicing in Canada if the US fell. I truely hope that comment is in response to the one (insert slur) who claims all Canadians hate Americans. If that is the case then the rebuttal was fairly earned.

Millions of US refugees pouring into our country? Bring it on.

At least you speak our language and share our belief system. Canada could use an influx of people who would cherish our way of life instead of trying to convert it into the hell they came from.

Just remember three things:

1. We speak British English (some things are spelled differently)
2. We drink real beer (you've been warned).
3. Surrender your automatic/military weapons at the border (the rest you can keep).

If you can quickly learn to be annoyed by Quebec you'll fit in great.

It was a good game! Just beat Slovakia 3-2; looks like the US will win another silver medal .

1st EDIT: Spelling

2nd EDIT: Hockey Score (we Canadians assume it's played on ice)

I for one welcome economic collapse. When We Americans understand whats it's like to starve like the Ethiopians and Sudanese and squat in flimsy shelters like the impoverished around the world, then and only then will this nation change, both the government and it's people.

I get where you are coming from, and I have said similar things in my past, but we are both wrong.

It is never ok to "welcome" suffering on people. I don't want to see everyday Americans suffering and their children not having enough to eat, and neighbors turning against one another and the government scrambling to clamp down with force and hurting innocent people.

Also, America will never be like Sudan or Ethiopia or Haiti or Somalia. We live in the land of plentiful resources. The Illusion is that we need money, and that we need imports, and that we need Global Trade. America would do just fine without all of that. A few big cities would suffer, and a lot of job shifting would occur, and people would migrate to different urban centers, but overall, we will still have plenty of food and clean water and wildlife and good-will to keep everyone provided for. The people in America will never starve.

Hopefully we can starve out the Politicians. Hopefully we can make a difference with our vote. You are right that no one man can make a difference, but each man voting for a regular citizen to go and represent us in Washington and then return back to their normal life and family and job would make a huge difference.

SACK THE INCUMBENT - SACK THE INCUMBENT - SACK THE INCUMBENT
Encourage your neighbor or father in law or doctor or mechanic to run for an office and then support them. Volunteer, Vote, Raise Funds, get some everyday Americans into Office and never never never vote for another politician!!!!

Sorry for the excessive quote, but this is very well said and very true in my opinion. Markets and the dollar can crash, but America will always survive and prosper in the end.
