"laugh-a while you can-a, monkey boy-a"

fun movie.

whatever inspired him to use that guy as his avatar, i will never know (thank-a good-a-ness-a)

least we have somebody who thinks he knows, and that's better than somebody who knows he knows but doesn't know .....or something like that.

The sun is not going to fry us.

The sun's poles will flip though. That should be quite interesting for us 'little' humans. Though, from my standpoint, we are not little at all. We are great beyond our understanding.

Sure would be interesting if this event were to coincide with the current financial problem's in Greece, and throughout the World. In other word's, with thing's already out of whack, can you imagine not being able to communicate effectively due to the solar storms and electromagnetic interference, what a mess that would be....

I interpret is as "Wake up, Humans!"

I also think things will be getting more spectacular.

Those are truly awesome photos. Almost looks like the recent Norway spiral. Can't wait to see what other photos you send.

That's probably not far off in the future anyway. It's just a matter of time. It's been discussed over and over on ATS and other websites, and it does deserve critical assessment. But quickly just check out these facts:

...$4 billion in satellite losses can be traced to space weather damage .
...The last major space storm caused an electrical blackout in Quebec.
...You have already been affected by solar storms and do not know it.
...Solar flares have cost the airline industry millions of dollars.

It is rather frightening when one considers our computer infrastucture being burnt up in a flash not to mention some of the other points you bring up.

Here's a quick update.
Daily Sun: 24 Feb. 10

New sunspot 1050 is anchoring one end of an enormous magnetic filament. Another new sunspot, not yet numbered, is emerging over the sun's northeastern limb. Image credit: SOHO/MDI

GREAT FILAMENT, CONTINUED: For the seventh day in a row, an enormous magnetic filament is hanging suspended above the surface of the sun's southern hemisphere. The Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO) has a great view. How long can it last? Solar filaments are unpredictable. If this one collapses and hits the stellar surface, the impact could produce a powerful Hyder flare. Readers with solar telescopes are encouraged to monitor developments.

Yep, it looks like it's gonna be quite interesting to say the least.

Hey, guys thanks for the flags. Much appreciated.
