Yeah, now that's what I'm talkin about!

Lets haul those global warming alarmists off to jail for the massive fraud they've committed upon the people of the world.

Senator Calls For “Criminal” Global Warming Investigation

Senator James Inhofe (R-OK) today asked the Obama administration to investigate what he called “the greatest scientific scandal of our generation” — the actions of climate scientists revealed by the Climategate Files, and the subsequent admissions by the editors of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Fourth Assessment Report (AR4).

Senator Inhofe also called for former Vice President Al Gore to be called back to the Senate to testify.

“In [Gore's] science fiction movie, every assertion has been rebutted,” Inhofe said. He believes Vice President Gore should defend himself and his movie before Congress.

Just prior to a hearing at 10:00 a.m. EST, Senator Inhofe released a minority staff report from the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, of which he is ranking member. Senator Inhofe is asking the Department of Justice to investigate whether there has been research misconduct or criminal actions by the scientists involved, including Dr. Michael Mann of Pennsylvania State University and Dr. James Hansen of Columbia University and the NASA Goddard Institute of Space Science.

This report, obtained exclusively by Pajamas Media before today’s hearing, alleges:

[The] Minority Staff of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works believe the scientists involved may have violated fundamental ethical principles governing taxpayer-funded research and, in some cases, federal laws. In addition to these findings, we believe the emails and accompanying documents seriously compromise the IPCC -backed “consensus” and its central conclusion that anthropogenic emissions are inexorably leading to environmental catastrophes.

Aw CRUD!

It's just some Republican lawmaker calling for this.

Nothing will happen. At least for now...

Senator James Inhofe? erm... No thanks. Inhofe probably just wants to muscle in on the AGW gravy train and sees this as a way to do it. He'll blackmail them until they relent and then he'll #can the whole investigation. I've seen it a hundred times.

Sadly, you're probably right. Whenever the Senate investigates something, it always ends in another government cover-up.

Edit to add: Still, I'd like to see Al Gore called to testify regarding all the lies he's told to the public for all these years and how he has profited so greatly from the global warming lie.

I was watching the EPA budget conference on CSPAN today.

Just a couple observations. One member compared deniers of GW as bad as the people denying HITLER back in the day!

Boxer used the old tried and true obfuscation technique that ALL the evidence is in and it is a fact that MAN is the culprit.

Another member brought up the occlusion of temperature readings from northern areas, rural areas, and the downright corrupt measurements included in the NOAA and NASA findings.

As far as an investigation goes, won't happen.

Revolution is looking more like an option every time we turn around.

The people have spoken on Cap and Tax as well as the gov takeover of health care. Which way are they going? Against the people right?

When is the public going to wake up to the fact that man-made global warming has been thoroughly debunked?

Why do we still tolerate politicians lying to us about this?

The MMGW facade is falling apart at the seams and it seems the only ones who refuse to acknowledge it are the politicians and snake oil salesmen (Al Gore) who have everything to gain from continuing these lies.

I really hope they can all be held criminally responsible somehow.

Hopefully around the same time they discover that Earth is flat and was created in 4004BC

Which sadly may be any day now if some folk get their way.

I don't get it. Over 8 billion dollars just disappeared in Iraq and why is there no call for an investigation about that? Instead we get a call for an investigation over research money on climate change? Sounds like a distraction to me.

The best parts of Inhofe's report call for debarment from federal funding for the AGW leeches who whine about "oil money" and "energy lobbyists" when they are sucking on the biggest teat in the world - The US Treasury!

The report notes a number of potential legal issues raised by their Climategate investigation:

1. It suggests scientific misconduct that may violate the Shelby Amendment — requiring open access to the results of government-funded research — and the Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) policies on scientific misconduct (which were announced December 12, 2000).
2. It notes the potential for violations of the Federal False Statements and False Claims Acts, which may have both civil and criminal penalties.
3. The report also notes the possibility of there having been an obstruction of Congress in congressional proceeds, which may constitute an obstruction of justice.

If proven, these charges could subject the scientists involved to debarment from federally funded research, and even to criminal penalties.

Climategate Meets the Law: Senator Inhofe to Ask for DOJ Investigation
When the "scientists" decided to become activists, they lost all objectivity and moved to froward their well-funded agenda.

They can become advocates on Gore's payroll if they want to profit from this like "real " businessmenr and prophets( profits?)/evangelists.

Since EPA's call for CO2 regulation was based on IPCC AR4, that finding is open to question as well:

Based on this minority staff report, Senator Inhofe will be calling for an investigation into potential research misconduct and possible criminal acts by the researchers involved. At the same time, Inhofe will ask the Environmental Protection Agency to reopen its consideration of an Endangerment Finding for carbon dioxide as a pollutant under the Federal Clean Air Act, and will ask Congress to withdraw funding for further consideration of carbon dioxide as a pollutant.

In requesting that the EPA reopen the Endangerment Finding, Inhofe joins with firms such as the Peabody Energy Company and several state attorneys general (such as Texas and Virginia) in objecting to the Obama administration’s attempt to extend regulatory control over carbon dioxide emissions in the United States. Senator Inhofe believes this staff report “strengthens the case” for the Texas and Virginia attorneys general.

How sad.

Deny ignorance.

Which is more important, the end of Islamic extremism, or the "end of the world?"

Isn't it about time THIS AGW advocacy spending was justified since "the scientific consensus" claims it is life or death for the entire planet?

You've cited two well-known "scientifical consensuseses" that some of us do recognize as myths propagated for control of the masses.

Just like AGW.

Deny ignorance.

How insightful.

Sort of like Jones, Pachauri, Mann and Hansen: the suckling pig evangelists of the AGW faith on the great government teats.

(The "morans" are winning, now!)

(edit to add: de Boer is gone, the rest will be soon, some will be in jail, and the "morans" will STILL have their fundinbg!)

You know the whole carbon credits scam was created at Enron do you not?

It is a move for a new wonderful capitalistic/socialistic hybrid to control resources and the world of tomorrow.

You must be really asleep at the wheel.

I doubt any investigation is going to come up and expose much of anything, not without some serious guerilla journalism ala Watergate. The best I'm hoping for is that this panic fad of man made "global warming" will fade like past panics (global freezing, ozone gone by year 2000, ect). Environmentalist scare fashions come and go. Sad thing is, they will probably replace it with something equally, or even more stupid.
