and they'd be right, if they actually think that. in general the collective public is really stupid. I don't know that trans fat has been outlawed anywhere, but campaigns to reduce the use of it help to drive down health care costs in the long run. I don't think anyones telling you CANT eat it, they are just telling you, you shouldn't. It's not about you, it's about the system. But, again, is this really a "liberal" thing?

This is exactly what the liberal desire to takeover the healthcare industry is all about in reality. It is about getting the power to tell everyone how they should live. They will do this in the guise of it is bad for society if you don't eat or live the way we want because it will increase our healthcare costs as a nation.

My answer to that is screw them. I will eat what I want and if I get sick from it I will pay the damn hospital bill myself. If healthcare "reform" passes, I give them 10 years before the liberals have us wrapped in plastic and eating tofu three times a day.

Got to love the irony of an obvious Conservative (who are traditionally anti-drink, anti-drug and anti-anyone not a bible thumper) banging on about supposed "liberals" who want to restrict everything and make up new laws on what society should be like, especially after 8 years of an ultra-conservative president passing so many laws that restriced your liberties.

Surely the term "liberal" means they don't want control? After all, you love your liberties, but to be liberal is bad?

Why is the USA always such a contradictory place?

Granted, American politics make no sense to me, it seems to have little substance and to be all about who raises the most cash and kisses the most babies, but you can't take a word which means one thing and then claim it means another!

If someone is "Liberal" than they are relaxed about controlling things. At least, thats what the word means here and we did invent the language after all......

Well that is the tricky things about Liberals, they almost always do the opposite of what their slogans and names say they are for. A good example is pro-choice... where the mother gets the choice but the dad and the baby get no choice at all. Pro-choice after all is just a really nice name for making it legal for a woman to terminate the life of her child.

More specifically, Obama says he wont raise taxes, but then he wants to create what is essentially a healthcare tax and a tax on carbon. He just doesn't like to call them taxes because it isn't as touchy, feely.

Oh and by the way I don't really care if you drink, smoke, or sleep with who or whatever you want as long as it doesn't interfere in my life.

My dear if you have not seen by now the way the politics here are full off I guess you have missing the whole circus and pony show, some as you can tell are still clinging to party lines.

Sometimes the liberal and conservative crap gets so complicated in some peoples mind that they have not clue what liberalism and conservatism means anymore.

You can no blame them after all is their own political party whores the ones keeping both sides fighting and away from discovering what is been done to them.

Shame none of the more technologically inclined students took advantage of this situation to get some serious laughs. There are quite a few programs out there that you can use to simulate what a web cam is seeing. Would love to see the look on a school admins face when they get hardcore scat porn when they think they'll be spying on a child taking a shower.

Seriously glad the FBI is looking into this. Hopefully all involved with this idiotic idea will come up on charges and have the proverbial pants sued off them. I can also picture a bright legal career for the guy that thinks "hey maybe other school districts are doing this!"

well it is bad for society. But again, no one is saying you CANT eat it they are just saying you shouldn't. Do you think all drugs should be legalized? Or will that be a burden on society as so many conservatives would be quick to tell you...so whats the dif, where do you draw the line?

Well my answer to that would be that a true conservative would find that the government has no real constitutional right to restrict your freedom unless it is potentially harmful to another person.

Hmm, my understanding of a conservative is trying to maintain the status quo and uphold traditional practice. But hey ho, enough derailing..

I doubt this issue has anything to do with left/right, blue/red but more down to idiotic people who think they can control other people, regardless of their political affiliation. Alot of that going around at the moment.

You are correct, my apologies. It was not intentional to make this all about right vs left. I just got caught up in answering peoples replies to my posts. My main point was that this spying on kids thing was most likely the result of liberal teachers and the liberal mentality gone wrong.

Thanks for point out how I got off track and I will try to stay more topic focused.

Not knowing that this could have happen when the school sent notification along with the laptops is the fault of the lazy parents and the school administrators who thought they could run rough shod over the privacy of these homes!

Agreed. Most of us have no idea just what lurks inside all that 'healthcare'.

I can tell you that the healthcare proposals are in fact following the leading edge of technology, and it's a sinister, grim tale. Not up to it at the moment, just wanted to agree.

Yes the actions of this school district is despicable .

But it is a general trend to gradually become more and more intrusive into Americans personal lives .

You cant blame the right and you cant blame the left . You have to blame them both it was bipartisan vote on the patriot act . We have the current administration adding cell phone blackberry locations can be accessed with out a warrant and we shouldn't expect privacy on the where abouts of these devices when used .

I am glad they caught these schools with enough out rage it might help slow down the intrusion into our private lives .

This is why I think the education system is stupid. They can't even tell between mike ikes and pills. What a buncha idiots.
