Thank you for posting havoc. I probably wouldn't have searched for the speech, so I appreciate catching it here.
I thought it was a good speech, passionate & well delivered .. and a welcomed change from the Beck we've seen lately. 'used to listen to him fairly
regularly; but somewhere along the line, he careened from "passion" to "anger" (ala Limbaugh & Jones). When that happens, the speaker loses
credibility, & the message gets lost as people start attacking the messenger rather than to listening to the message. It's a shame because the
delivery doesn't change the facts, nor does the persona of the presenter.
But, in this speech he was more even keeled & light, which made it easier both to absorb & to jot research notes. I think he dropped the ball at the
ending though; a "call to action" would have been more appropriate than the sappy "sun'll come out tomorrow" schtuff. But other than that, well
done says I. A nice enough presentation that maybe it'll encourage some to take another look.
I skipped 3 pages of irrelevant Beck bashing here, but I didn't see a single disagreement of fact. And that really is the point.
Thanks!
