On February 24th, the communist dem0crats are attempting to flood congress with faxes, emails, calls, twitters, etc. to demand they socialize our medicine. I propose that conservatives overwhelm their attempt with opposing viewpoints and common sense. If you have already contacted them, you will know how to do this. If not, I doubt you would anyways. Freedom, use it or lose it.

Our capitalistic health care is not working. The conservatives have done nothing but oppose and obstruct. Our country isn't workinig anymore. Something has to change, drastically.

Not working? I don't think you know what you are talking about. We have people from all over the socialist world coming here for medical care, because the socialism DOESN'T WORK at home. Illegals pour over the border, and clog our emergency rooms, for the FREE care (free to them, at our expense) and the possibility to build a life, and not be told what they can and cannot do. However, the secret radicals and Progressives want us to be just like the countries these people are coming from. Eh, it might cut down on illegal immigration, but I don't like the price of freedom. I want 'you get what you pay for'. YOU want 'I get what YOU pay for'. No thanks, I'll pass.

If/When they pass this legislation and they say to me, "Hey, you have to purchase this Healthcare Insurance to cover your family because it is now the law," they will be promptly told to "piss off". The CBO says it will cost a minimum of $15,000/yr. Yeah right, like that's ever going to happen.

For those of you out there who feel that we who are better off owe the "less fortunate" through paying their way in this world. I'll tell you what I told my son on his 18th birthday.

From this day forward, whatever happens in your life will be up to you. Any expectations you may have that this world owes you anything is a waste of expectation. In fact, you need to get your sh..t together and figure out what you want to do with your life. If you don't, this world will chew you up and spit you out. So, the decision is yours, and the outcomes of your decisions, good or bad, are your responsibility and your's alone.

He went on, joined the Marines, spent 7 months under fire in Iraq, came home and just graduated college with a Communications degree.

My point is that if you think that I should feel some responsibility for the outcomes of other people's lives by paying for their misfortunes, then I should have been included in the decision making process on the front end.

That is a closed minded statement that is wrong on so many levels that there is probably absolutely no point in trying to explain the real pro's and con's of semi capitalist healthcare to you.

There's a hundred odd threads here where you can get a good perspective on the overall issue if you search for them.

And just for perspective - I went to the UK for a non socialized operation a few years ago.. does that mean their system is better than the Irish one? No, the specialist for the operation was only available in the UK. This idea that people only come from all over the world to the US for healthcare is nonsense, people traverse the distance between countries regularly for healthcare as with everything else..

I am sure that their are specialists and circumstances that would cause one to go to another country, and I am well aware that American medicine is a big scam/conspiracy. They will not allow 'alternative' medicine here; anything that will not profit the drug makers. But some of their progaganda does find its way into the socialist countries, and they fall for it. I don't think they are correct in coming here for drug 'therapy', but overall, there are alot of people doing just that. Personally, I may end up going out of the country to get actual health care. You can't get it here, its' all a huge scam. I know and understand that.
