No, saying you belong to a certain part of it won't. Saying "I believe in jesus" will get you places but saying "I pray to mary to pray for me" wont.

I think they are doing it for tradition. Like those freemasonic catholics do. They dont practise the faith, they just appear to be a believer and go to the traditional services in the church.
