Another High-Ranking Taliban Leader Captured in Pakistan

www.foxnews.com

Another high-ranking leader of the Taliban in Afghanistan has been captured by a joint U.S.-Pakistani intelligence operation in Pakistan, Fox News has confirmed.

The capture of the Taliban leader, Mullah Salam, first reported by Newsweek magazine, comes on the heels of news that Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, the Taliban's No. 2, had been captured early this month in Pakistan.

Top commander Baradar and now Mullah Salam!

The implications are tremendous. It looks very much like the Pakistanis are now committed to working with the US, cooperating with the US operations and intelligence and the Pakistanis aren't worried as much about repercussions from the local populations.

Apparently the al Qaeda are being forced out of the border country into the interior where they are more vulverable to capture. Forced out by the ever present threat by the Preditors.

This also implies that Mullah Baradar is talking, having possibly given information about where to find Salam. The Pakistanis are apparently in charge of debriefing Baradar, not the US.
