Police brutality is one of several forms of police misconduct, which include false arrest, intimidation, racial profiling, political repression, surveillance abuse, sexual abuse, and police corruption. If this video was not leaked the guy would have been convicted as a drug peddler or user.

This brings a disturbing question just how many people would have been framed like this? How many reputations, lives maligned?

Looks like standard US Police procedures these days. Does it strike anyone else that it had the feel of the 1960's police treatment of black Americans of the time? i.e. They have a 'do what you like and you'll get away with it' mandate? They are certainly the biggest street gang in the world and as long as they bring in the corp revenues then the politicians and judiciary not just turn a blind eye but assist by attacking anyone that confronts these hired thugs.

OMG!
What an *snip*!
Next, the poor guy will be accused of child porno on his computer, have several firearms, and belong to ATS,
I fear it will only get worse!

Extremely disturbing.....

If true, these "cops" should be locked away for a long long time.

I will agree that the K9 bite was NOT necessary and they should be held accountable for that. As for the aggressivness of the the officers, you may wanna check the history of the suspect before making a clear judgment. Reason being, you don't play patty cackes with a man who has a criminal history of: Burglary, Drug Possession, Domestic Abuse, and Fleeing.

Now for the "planting" of the drugs. Yes there was an allegation, BUT you failed MISERABLY to doing alittle research to find out that the officer in question was reaching into his pocket to make sure the camera and audio were still on. Also, (go figure), the youtube video IS NOT complete and doesn't show the confession by Carlos that he DID have weed on him. In his own words, CAUGHT ON TAPE, he says "yeah so what, you found my weed". Not to mention he pled GUILTY to the possession charge in court and admitted to the DA no one planted anything.

Just another case of people having NO CLUE and ASSuming stuff, and before researching it, they go purely on emotion or biased hate to make people look MUCH worse then what they really are.

Again, you wanna complain about the use of the K9, I can agree and will complain about that too, as there was no reason. As for the "planting" and believing this video with blinders on....well thats par for the course here on ATS when it comes to police anything.

Edit to Add: The lawsuit is still pending for the K9 bite and rightfully so, but the officer was cleared, thanks to the suspect being honest (a week later), and is back to work.

This is becoming a daily occurrance and people are becoming "used" to it

if that is possible.

It shows the public that no matter what you do, you are under the cops

control, and it leads to more fear of Authority.

The Cops didn't even try to Hide their actions , they have "no fear".

I raise my hand; I have been on that end a few times, living in a city of only 23,000 people. I myself have been assaulted, had false charges put on me.

I really hate watching videos like this, and cop shows, because they use excessive force it seems 90% of the time. You know why you “hardly” ever have one charge going to court? I assume it’s for the prosecution advantage and city protection against law suits. They will often drop one of the several charges you’ve been charged with to get you to plea out to the other(s) or a lesser charge. And poor average Joe has to defend himself against a state with all the backings, and a judge who will believe lies from an officer.

We had an officer who was caught breaking into churches and stealing money, while on duty. Wonder how many people he lied on (including me) and the judge believed his statements? If I would have told the judge how crooked this guy was, (I didn’t know he was that crooked though) do you think he would’ve believed me?

You have to go down the road as a defendant to understand how backwards the system seems, when you’re arrested, but innocent till proven guilty, and post enough bail money and you’re free again. Yeah guess money does talk.

Criminals posing as policemen. This does not surprise me. Law enforcement officers need to be given regular drug tests, psych evaluations, and lie detector tests to keep them honest. After all they are responsible TO US AND FOR US.

I am actually amazed that there aren't anymore shootings like we saw in Washington to be honest.

I know if a cop ruined my life, he wouldn't have his.

I remember here awhile back they tossed out several cases of one officer. Basically he caught a kid on some type of traffic thing and for whatever reason he did plant some pot in the kid's car.

Anyway - to rcwj1975's comments - based on those I went looking for the source and found..

Officer Cleared Of Planting Evidence

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- A man has admitted to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation that he had drugs with him the night he was pulled over by Cookeville police.

rcwj1975 - no offense meant in looking for a source for your comments. Its kind of like Ronnie Regan said - "Trust but verify"

Anyway - I agree, from the vid alone it sure looks like a plant. But, it was not. I guess you can't always trust vids.

Well we are...you just don't hear about it. What are they going to put on the news that 6 cops were randomly piss tested today in your city? Or tell you that the random "shrink" interview was conducted on half the force? And speaking of a lie detector test....GUESS WHO took one to help clear his name BEFORE the suspect admitted the drugs weren't planted on him........cmon guess.....thats right...THE OFFICER FROM THIS EXACT VIDEO!!!!!!!!!

I at no time will EVER say it has never happend. And those officers should be fired and convicted. No argument there. And those caught doing it are always fired and charged in my experiance.

There are numerous articles and a few videos out there telling the TRUTH...but I decided it's not on me to post them, its on the OP who SHOULD look for them BEFORE posting gibberish. Especially a case from almost 3 years ago.

No offense taken at all. I don't blame you for looking for the truth, just wish OTHERS would do so before bashing and believing the first thing they see. Yes, I will even agree with you that it looks like a plant, or fishy coinsidence, and that is why you have to ask yourself...would this cop really plant drugs right infront of a camera he knew was on and recording? Common sense would tell me, NO, so let me investigate a bit. Other side of the coin, maybe the cop really could of been that dumb and if that WAS the case, then he deserves everything he gets.

rcwj1975 you know as well as I do that the cop haters here on ATS will still hate cops and embrace ignorance after shown proof a cop was in the right.

As for the video I agree the dog bite was a bit far. I could say that people get out of control from time to time and it should be expected to happen, but then people will say it should never be expected. To a point I can agree with that. It should not be expected but certainly should be understood that it will as we are all human and people for whatever reason do stupid things at times, no one is immune to it.

Of course most of the haters on here hate just to hate because it is cool, cops interfere with the haters life style (meaning the hater is a criminal themselves), or just hate out of ignorance.

They do not care for proof here only that a cop is in the press for doing something they feel is wrong.

I believe for myself, and others posting , that I am not a Cop Hater.

I grew up respecting Police, listening to Police, believeing that they are

the Good Guys , protecting us for the Bad Guys.

Now who protects us , when the GOOD GUYS are worse than the Bad Guys.

Q: What do you call it when a "good cop" covers up the actions of a "bad cop"?

A: Business as usual.
