So far, China and Russia have opposed any crippling sanctions against the Iranian regime. On the one hand, Netanyahu is in Moscow to seek support for
what looks like a last ditched effort for sanctions to work against Iran. On the other hand, Hillary Clinton is in Gulf to seek Saudi influence in
persuading China for supporting tougher sanctions.
I believe that a crucial point in the above article is the proposal for supply guarantees by Saudi Arabia to China. Is the Obama administration
planning on enforcing naval blockade as a part of the latest set of "crippling sanctions"? Because, in case of a naval blockade, Iranian oil supply to
China might be affected. Hence, that might explain the proposed guarantees offered by Saudi to Chinese as far as uninterrupted oil supply is
concerned.
