Coso Junction, CA had an earth quake at16:07 PST. The temblor was approx 1.6 miles deep.
Perhaps things are starting up again for the Gold coast.

I've never heard of Coso Junction, CA. Any idea where it's located? I'm in Southern California and haven't felt any shaking. I hope it stays that way.

There does seem to be a lot of shaking going on, on the coast lately.
I've been watching the quakes the last few days. nothing significant yet though.

Coso is a very geologically active area, sparsely populated and part of an old volcanic field.

vulcan.wr.usgs.gov...

There's a geothermal power plant that recently started fluid injection, since then the area has been shaking even more regularly. (Believe it or not induced seismicity in such circumstances is a recognized phenomenon) But it's a very active region regardless of the power plant, and CA in general has been pretty active today. There was just a 3.3 near Tres Pinos and earlier in the day a pretty good shaker in the San Bernardino area.
