Remember the government made them shut down and then gave contracts to political allies with no experience, remember?
Here's an article on it that sums it up pretty well.

Furor grows over partisan car dealer closings

Evidence appears to be mounting that the Obama administration has systematically targeted for closing Chrysler dealers who contributed to Repubicans. What started earlier this week as mainly a rumbling on the Right side of the Blogosphere has gathered some steam today with revelations that among the dealers being shut down are a GOP congressman and closing of competitors to a dealership chain partly owned by former Clinton White House chief of staff Mack McLarty. Here's an update on that situation.

Judge Arthur J. Gonzalez claims right to commit fraud

link to article

Here's a bit from the article,

(Feb. 9, 2009) — Last Friday, Arthur J. Gonzalez, United States Bankruptcy Judge for the Federal Court, Southern District of New York, issued his judgment denying the Motion for Reconsideration filed by attorneys Leo Donofrio and Stephen Pidgeon in the case RE: in Chrysler LLC et al., on behalf of 76 former Chrysler dealerships whose owners lost their livelihoods when the Bankruptcy Court in New York canceled their dealership contracts with Chrysler as part of the forced sale to FIAT. Just days before the ruling, on Feb. 1, 2010, Judge Gonzalez received a promotion from Obama to the position of Chief Justice of the Bankruptcy court in his district, according to the official website of the same: raising questions of whether there has been a quid pro quo exchange in return for upholding his own fraud, in support of Obama’s political agenda to destroy Chrysler and reorganize it to the advantage of the labor unions.

I found it quite interesting. How bout you?

Very interesting indeed. And regrettably, not very surprising. The idea of the government takeover of a private enterprise was repugnant and wholly un-American enough. That there is a real method to the dealership that are axed based on politics should wake a few people up. But it won't.

And people were afraid that Bush was going to anoint himself a king. Go figure.

This is certainly very interesting. Looking forward to getting more info on this in the next few days. This should open many eyes.

I offer you this: Snopes.com Car Czar

Ultimately it was found that 88% of all car dealerships contributed to republicans. Let me repeat that, not just 88% that were closed, 88% of ALL dealerships.

To say that more republican dealerships were closed as some sort of bias is ignoring the proportion of dealerships owned by democrats vs. those owned by republicans.

One name stuck out in that article...

Leo Donofrio

Who is Leo Donofrio?

He's a birther lawyer, that failed several times to have Obama removed as POTUS because Donofrio claims that Obama was born in Kenya...

So for that this thread gets the coveted. [atsimg]http://files.abovetopsecret.com/images/member/911645fd941f.png[/atsimg]

Do you have an opinion as to the fact that the judge was promoted by obama himself? You don't find that a little fishy?

And did you read the 2nd article?this judge is using the ruling he gave in the case they're appealing to justify the denial of the appeal. That is unbelievable in and of itself!

Who appoints federal judges? When you find out, slap yourself on the forhead just once really hard.

Why? Is he supposed to change his mind?

Judge Gonzalez was 'promoted' to his current position in 1995 and has subsequently held that position since then.

Who appoints federal judges?

Wikipedia
In the United States, the title of federal judge usually means a judge appointed by the President of the United States and confirmed by the United States Senate in accordance with Article III of the United States Constitution.

Judge Gonzalez is actually a bankruptcy judge, which is different from what is considered a federal judge.

US Code: Title 28, Part 1, Chapter 6, Para. 152
Each bankruptcy judge to be appointed for a judicial district, as provided in paragraph (2), shall be appointed by the court of appeals of the United States for the circuit in which such district is located.

So there! You're both wrong.

This BS has been going on for years in government contracts.

Halburton and Dick Cheney,
The left, steeped in irrational hatred of Vice President Dick Cheney, who once ran Halliburton, howled the deal was corrupt, but ignored that no one else could do the work. They also missed that it was President Bill Clinton who signed off on the original Halliburton contract. The Bush administration merely renewed it.

The Obama administration this month awarded a $25 million federal contract for work in Afghanistan to a company owned by a prominent Democratic campaign contributor without entertaining competitive bids.

Wow, what I want to know is how the republicans suckered the Democrats into buying failing car dealerships from them. Looks like the republicans pulled another one over on the democrats rather than this being a sinister democratic plot. Democrats can't think along those lines - not like republicans do.
