Pakistan while seeking diplomacy with rival nation India continues advancement in it's quest for a nuclear arsenal that can reach far inside of India...

ABCNEWS.com

Pakistan successfully test-fired on Saturday a ballistic missile capable of carrying nuclear warheads, as part of its efforts to boost defenses in its rivalry with India.

"It can carry all types of warheads," Major-General Shaukat Sultan told Reuters, adding that it has a range of up to 1500 km (930 miles).

The test of the Ghauri (Hatf V) missile came a week after a new government took office in India and pledged to continue a peace process with Pakistan but postponed talks aimed at easing nuclear tensions, saying it needed time to settle in.

Pakistan could be seeking nothing more than defence that would counter the nuclear threat posed by rival nation India.

With a range of 930+ miles there are many dangerous implications to global security in my view.

Pakistan as a Muslim nation has been seen by many Muslims as the first nation with the "Islamic bomb".

Are we heading toward a time where we will be living in fear of the ultimate terrorist weapon, the "Islamic Bomb"?

Big thanks to North Korea for this one. Only Kim Jong Il would think giving ICBM tech to a nation comprised largely of jihadis is a good idea. It's only a matter of time before the mushrooms start popping over there, IMHO.

The problem is that while Pakistani goverment and army are and have been close US ally, the Pakistani people are very radical and islamistic. Don't even think what would happen when some kind of revolution occurs. Sometime in the past they even burned US embassy.
