Dark for sure.

I spend all day at work staring at monitors with black text on a white background.

I hate sites that are all light. I just learned to love the web through this site and would probably not read as much or visit as frequently if you go light.

Definitely Dark Meat... I mostly am on here after dark with the lights off, and the light version is too bright...

Now about the new drapes....

So, why dont you post an example of what it would look like all light?

I like white meat, but my forums dark.

Dark suites the techie, undergroundish genre of ATS, kind of like what you would see in a secret operations center or in the Lone Gunmen trailer.
I see it as kind of an ATS signature trait.
I do a lot of surfing in the evening with little or no lights on so its nice to be able to look away from the screen and see something besides a big, purple square, blind spot.
So, yah, dark please.

I choose dark.
I tried light version once and I just didn't like it so I have always stuck to dark.
Thanks for asking.

I vote dark as it is much easier to see for most, plus IMHO it looks better. Although personally I would like to see it black and shiny, but whatever works best, lol.

Dark meat please. I find lighter websited much harder to read on for long periods of time. I like ATS colour contrast as is =)

Dark please.

I selected go light once by mistake and just couldnt look at the screen, it hurt my eyes. I was so pleased to find the light screen was just an option and not permament.

Dark...dark....dark........

What a funny word. Just love saying it.....dark....dark.....

I spend a lot of time on ATS sitting in the dark, and as such, love the dark...

dark...dark...dark....

OK one last time...dark..

I'd prefer much higher contrast - black text on white background for me every time.

The current styles gives me a headache, especially at higher resolutions.

I don't mind what you choose for the 'default' look but I'd love an option where you can customise the style sheet yourself.

You could even limit it to two sliders one, for text and one for background so you could choose your own shade of black/grey/white for each one.

For my two sense :

I prefer the darker screen colors, the why is the kicker..

I work a lot infront of my computer doing graphics work and I have all my software set to darker tones, after a few years of that it has become increasingly hard to look at brightly colored web sites without needing sunglasses.

bu that's just me.

Scientifically, the dark option is best. The rods of the retina fire when they encounter light, so obviously dark text on light background fires a lot more rods than the light text on dark background.

I was really hoping the changes would have included a more hierarchical structure to messages since it is so hard to track a thread when it is just one long list of messages.

I chose BOTH.

But I personally chose Light

Dark please. It only feels like regular top secret if it is light.
