It does not really matter.

Dark for me please Sir.

Some time ago I must have hit the light button by accident( did not know it existed) and was rather miffed when it went light .I thought that you had changed it.Anyway I put up with it for a few days until in passing mentioned it to another member who explained about the button. I felt both a burk and very relieved that I could change it back to dark which I think if far easier on ones eyes and to read.I also think it looks much more tasteful ,professional and different to other sites such as the lighter GLP.

I prefer the dark the way it is now.

The dark example you give has more of a gray background, and it's not as easy to read.
Still, it's a tad bit better than the light, which I could also live with, BTW.

At the moment I go with dark,But of the new look pages in the orig.post I would go with light-looks a lot easier on the eye for me and my ol monitor.
Good job ATS.

(Setting aside the "just make a light/dark selection option" argument for now.)

Dark thanks

i pick dark , less eye strain, at least for me. besides the eye strain factor, there are very few sites that i've been to that are dark like ats, which is one reason why i choose to read ats more.

moderators can't be in every thread, if you see something off topic there's an alert button next to every single post. crying about it in a thread about something completely different....well that's just offtopic isn't it?

Light text on a darker background seems to have a more relaxed feel to it.

The dark text upon a light background just seems to be more proactive and gives me the feeling that if I used that instead of the bright text against the dark background, my mind would not be as relaxed.

However they are both very good, and so good it is difficult to decide which one is better and that was why i nitpicked about one option being less relaxed than the other.

I prefer the dark. Darkness, my old friend, . . here we go again.

Hiding in the dark is safer.

I would usually agree with that, but for me at least the new "light" page looked more acceptable.

Guess its all dependent on what monitor you view ATS on.
Will we still retain the light/dark changability,or is this thread going to set the overhaul to light OR dark?
Just wondering

Make it optional to chose between both. Me personally, I prefer dark.

I'll cast my vote for the dark meat please. It's definitely easier on my eyes. Thanks for asking for our input.

I LOVE the dark! I think the present option of changing it is cool, though.

I say keep it dark!

Knowing you can do as you wish, but ask anyway is very thoughtful.

Thank you.

Personally, I prefer the dark.

I do a lot of reading here (obviously) and the dark is better on my eyes.
But that's just me.
If light is better for the majority I'll get some sunglasses.
But for my vote, it's dark all the way.

I prefer the Dark as well.

The light just hurts my eyes, and dark goes well with the theme/overall look of the site, imo.

Light for sure I can certainly see the page with more clarity.
