Could this be it? Punch.

Is it the 11th there now?

An electric car is certainly a jab to oil. Everyone is wondering what Iran will unveil/announce... perhaps this is the start.

I wonder if it will be a series of announcements throughout the day.

Does anyone else know more about this story, perhaps this was already expected?

Yep its the 11th now like 4:30 in the morning.

This is indeed their big announcement and technological break through. Its a nice car and 200KM without recharging is pretty impressive.

Yup this looks like an announcement to me .. a good electric car, i know pollution is low but how do you think we generate electricity to charge these things?

with oil , gas and coal of course ../sigh

Wow you want an end to capitalism? So you think communism or socialism are better? I mean thats cool i was just curious.

I think China has the closest thing to the best model combining communism and capitalism.

I think Amanutjob will probably announce the West is done but he will having nothing to back it up.

Nah...you use nuclear energy...not gas, coal and oil. And this is why Iran will justify thier need for nuclear energy....to have the power to recharge their new "National car"

Yeah I noticed that it was an older article, but I'm not sure how I missed it - I've been trying to keep up on pressTV today.

I am thinking that, to be truly effective, Iran should announce multiple things... that is of course if they have the Aces to do it. Now would be the time. All week they have already been leading up with the nuclear defiance.

Very interesting turn of events lately.

If this is the announcement I'm beyond disappointed.

What a waste of time. It's a car. Who cares.

These things take time!! Don't despair lol

The changeover to renewable power is colossal at the moment.. another couple of decades will see immense changes.

Or if you are going to buy an electric car.. get your electricity through one of the Renewable companies on the grid.. its usually cheaper anyway as an EU incentive. Problem solved.. I know its not necessarily power created by renewable sources but its expanding the renewable industry and creating more investment while using the power they create.

Yes, but think of the symbolism!

Haha, I know I was hoping for more too, but you gotta admit its a pretty good move against the oil cartel.

Now that he has done it, what is stopping china and russia to do the same? Just speculating...

Because when Iran makes something, Akhmanutjob acts like they are the first ones to ever do so. Ive seen this car (The Tesla) many times but in Iran they have probably never even dreamed of such a thing lol.

The more electric cars the better, ironically transforming your current car to electric is much cheaper than buying a new one. Gas cars are a monument of human greed gone terribly wrong. They are horribly inefficient, they have 1000's of moving parts and they make you an oil slave.

Electric cars are future proof. Batteries get better, unlike gasoline, for instance ultra capacitors that allow near instant charging and take days to run down. Or one could even throw out the factory batteries and put custom batteries in it based on some electric free energy technology
. Would be quite the retrofit.

I tell people to go electric. Not because of the green crap or global warming ponzy scheme. But because electric free energy is upon us and it wouldn't take an engineer to install it so the batteries are constantly charging.

If this is "it" I don't see how anyone could possibly be disappointed.
I think it's wonderful.

I'm pleased not only because of what it is, but because of the many things it could have been, but isn't.

Whew.

I have to agree!! But you also need to know there are lots of idiots on here who actually want to see Iran test a nuke, or for war to break out or just something wild and crazy.

Too many folks are ready to justify spending all thier money on the massive amounts of canned tuna and bottled water they have stored in their basements!!!

So this was their "stunning" punch to the west?

Well in a way I'm disappointed because I was expecting something "bigger" but I guess this is good since they're not testing out a nuke or a new missile with the capability to carry a nuke.

For those who are dissapointed... I am dissapointed in you

for a major annoucement against the superpowers that be, from a very oppressed or if you prefer over-sanctioned "sovereign" country isn't this a great gandhi-like move against the money/oil dependant war profiteers there are today?

What would you prefer?
An announcement of an entire massive stockpile of weaponized nuclear warheads?

Let's not sound like the blackwater employees during Katrina who told Jeremy Scahill "there's hardly any action here, it's boring".

No I am not saying he's Gandhi for the record
I am just saying.... did you expect a major annoucement to hate upon?

if this is it, this is peaceful, more than most of us know because it has to do with Oil.

This is GREAT!!!!!

I hope this is it, but this is no punch to a the US or the worldwide market when it comes to hybrid cars. Iran has been known to do this in the past. Major announcement...FAIL. There is still time for something, but I doubt it is anything in regards to doom.
