Thanks to Medicare, which wouldn’t reimburse for the cost of a help-mate robot, Roxxxy the robot is now seeking employment in the adult entertainment business.

The robot boasts artificial intelligence, speech recognition technology and a bevy of recorded phrases, making it able to, on some levels, converse with her mate. She also has a personality-changer, an Internet connection to receive software and dialog updates, all for a price between $7,000 to $9,000.

Predictably, the robot is female.

I can't help but wonder why women continue to be ignored as relevant consumers. Particularly with respect to sexualized robots. I mean, think about it. Standard robotic characteristics, notably stamina, are far, far more useful to the females of the human species.

Of course, many men do seem to prefer programmable mates. (I'm creating a mailing list as I write this.)

I can't believe no one has put up a post on this medical discover, hurrah for science!!!

Much needed in America's Obese and Superficial society. I mean, who wants to exercise and socialize when I have my Roxxxy 3000.

P.S. Reminds me of the Futurama Episode where Fry wants nothing more than to get laid with his Lucy Lui Robot. I see his pain....

This is unbelievably untrue, unless you mean simply as consumers of this product alone. Been to a store that sells clothing recently? Seen many tv ads?

Women are the single biggest consumers in the market, and they know it.

Of course, many men do seem to prefer programmable mates.

Yes, mainly because liberated women seem to be terribly difficult to deal with.

I like my women domesticated to an extent.

a) Make a female robot, so you can have someone to have sex with.

I should have been more clear, I still have the desires but there always is some "excuse" or new Dr. Oz revelation.

In order to spice up our love life, I installed mirrors on the walls and ceiling in the bedroom.

I can now watch a headache from 9 unique angles.

The Misses does seem to go through the D cells though. Luckily I am President of the Battery of the Month Club which has priveledges.

I really have no idea what you all are talking about. I have been married 9 year in 6 more days and my wife and I have fun time often.

I never understood the whole once you are married you don’t get sex thing.

As for the topic at hand, I find the idea of a talking sex robot kind of scary.
