I would probably agree with what you said,that Israel is the only democracy in the middle east,especially if i was somewhere far from the reach of their missiles and bullets and attack helicopters.You are probably saying this from an airconditioned room on a comfortable chair somewhere.But would you still think the same thing if you were a young palestine boy or girl?There are very few countries which can even claim to be democratic,and i personally cannot name any democratic country.As far as i can see,democracy is now measured in terms of propaganda,how good a country hides its bad deeds from its citizens.Now Iran is doing a bad job of hiding their bad deeds,so using simply analysis they would seem to be very undemocratic but they are no worse than any other.I should hope being on ATS would teach people stuff like this,but turns out i was wrong..
