I feel for the teachers - it sounds like hard work! - but this is hardly anything to express worry about.

There's clearly no place for people who don't speak any English in an English speaking school. It's a no brainer! I teach international students who must have a rudimentary grasp of the language before they can attend my classes.

Those who slip through the net learn nothing... and usually spend most of their time disrupting other students in an effort to have their work done for them... thus diminishing someone else's learning experience.

We aren't asking people to abandon their culture... just learn the freaking language so they can survive in our country, respect our way of life (instead of claiming ignorance to it) and hopefully earn an honest living.

After all, it's the respectful thing to do for a country that has kindly offered you a safe harbor from the 'wild country'.

It's also the amount of money wasted on translators taken out of council bugets which should be used for things like the NHS and schools. the local councils have been told they need to save millions over the coming couple of years, I'm betting this will be at the expense of the average person not the people who can't speak English. We already spend millions on on translating forms, signs and letters.

However many families do not wish for their children to become influenced by the country (such as traditions becoming westernised), that could be a reason why they're stopping their children from speaking English. However, as I stated above - they won't be able to get anywhere without speaking English.

Now you know how the Americans feel.... Except they don't even attempted to learn the language....

It seems no matter where you go in the UK, the government have made a huge mistake by letting in so many people, at least in the US they have to do some kind of test, as far as i am aware, to show that people wanting to come in to the country, have a little knowledge or their culture and language. Unfortunately that is not the case here, some even want their own laws introduced, which beggs the question, why did they come here in the first place, the mind boggles,

As for the Sun, well IMHO its little more than a comic, full of lies and rubbish and crap about celebrities and boobs, which some of the population allow to have shoved down their throats. and even believe what they print, laughable, like I said in my opinion.
