There is probably not a single person on ATS who does not have some ancestry from a people that conquered others, whether tribally or nationally.
So in this thread I would like to hear some of those historic narratives of triumph, and also how the current generation feels about that all.
Does history belong to the winners, the losers, the revisionists?
Must anyone alive now feel guilty for any harm done?
On a bigger scale, isn't the "white" history repeated as the "victorious" history, a liberal take on history that treats pre-colonial peoples as homogenous ciphers?
Isn't it Darwinism (or social Darwinism) for the strong to celebrate and spread their genes?

You didn't do it, your physical shell didn't do it, and you are a spiritual being. Why are you proud or full of shame?

Agreed!
But then why does my generation have to make apologies, offer reparations and career-damaging Aternative Action and employment equity?
(And if Western people think they're not going to pay, I would encourage you to see the Khulumani website).
