Wow, just wow....................really nothing else to add to a response so intelligent. Apologize much? By them letting their "religion" be hijacked by radicals who have the capacity to rule through fear of physical violence upon their own, is it not similar to organized crime, hell alot of it goes against the Rico act, yet it still continues. They need to sort their own mess out, as any intervention by anyone else is just seen as an attack on these cowards and there by justifies the continued violence.

And, obviously, you missed the sarcasm in my post. Back in the 60s and 70s the stereotype was that all Italian Americans were part of the Mafia. We know that isn't true. But, it is the same stereotype you are promoting while evidencing it with the rhetoric "if they don't stand up against it they are a part of it." We know this is untrue as it was untrue in the case of the Italian Americans.

Formality most likely. Not to mention the publicity these "lawyers'" will receive. I don't know anymore.

Pakistan is as civilized as the next nation so the rule of law still stands. Unfortunately, everything just went in the deep-end for this one.

I don't really like religion-bashing as the next guy, but this is going way too far. It goes beyond fairness and into the cesspool of bigotry.

If I'm the parent of that girl, I wouldn't even know what I'm supposed to do anymore.

I don't feel misinformed. What would it take for muslims to regain control of their religion? A couple of half hearted attempts isn't going to do it. These sort of things happen all of the time. Cowards killing children have no excuse to live, let alone threaten anyone else. To do so and hide behind your religion makes it even worse. What lawyers there are going to do anything? None, they all follow the same "religion" and it's acceptable......................coming to a town near you.

If Muslims are so peacefull why do they murder 12 year old girls? Thats something I've never been able to understand.

I am inclined to agree with ProtoplasmicTraveler; this is about lawyers.

It is also about lawyers who ARE the government, and where that leads....

What is the defense for being murdered? Life?

How do you defend a dead 12-year old girl?

-- Are they intending to make the victim the criminal?, and if so, how?... becomes the principle legal agenda.

Is it permissible in Islamic law? Perhaps. But even so, the perpetrator has lost all his social currency, as least in my world - and probably his own as well..., in th end.

Sadly, Christian-biased news sources have a way of accentuating a certain perspective. I can only wait and see what ends up being the 'facts' of the case.

It's interesting how a case about a murder can be couched as 'defending' the victim instead of prosecuting the accused.

First, big assumption, I'm not a Christian.......you can rationalize it anyway you want but the fact is, two wrongs don't make a right. The people you cited didn't threaten to burn anyone for defending them.......so since muslim lawyers can get away with this through fear of physical reprisals, again, what is their defense? If their rule of law allows this to happen then things are far worse than they seem. One could also make alist of all of the evil things muslims do..................it'd be a mute point though, first it's not evil to the "religion" of peace second, someone else would just come along and justify it again.

Care to expound on this, I'm afraid it doesn't make sense. If these "lawyers", can do this, and the rule of law allows it, this is o.k. by you? By definition, all religions are cults, but nice attempt at deflection. What does Vietnam have to do with anything?
