I went through radiation therapy for 2 months, then 5 years later 6 months of chemotherapy. That was it. Done. 22 years ago.

People in my situation who opted for alternative therapy are dead. Gone. Done.

"Big Pharma" done me good.

I am more in the medical technology / device area & less in the medical pharma area.

However I know a lot about both areas, albeit I know more about the medical technology / device area.

I can tell you that simplifying things as you have is not really fair.

If I took you to meet some of the senior industry people & doctors with whom I work, you would be amazed at how incredibly decent & hardworking they really are, in the interests of good medicine.

That does not mean to say there aren't some losers in the industry. But then again, isn't that the case with all industries?

Seriously.....there's all types in here

It truly isn't the evil culture that you think it is.

I think folks sometimes get a little too dichotomized (especially when they speak in hypothetical terms and not about a present health issue) and it has to be one or the other for them.

There are many effective approaches that can be undertaken concurrently. There are documented natural ways to maximize the body's defense and healing mechanisms, there are spiritual tools available, psychological attitudes for which there is anecdotal evidence, and there are effective medical treatments for disease.

To take a blanket approach towards any of these (or others) is to deprive one's self of all that is available.

No choice is often necessary and a holistic approach (as I understand it) is often the most effective.

If one feels it necessary to consult John of God, investigate it and proceed at your own peril ... it still doesn't mean that one should forego all established medical practice.

And yeas, there is a whole lot wrong with Big Pharma ... no need to throw the baby out with the bath water, especially when the baby is you! (not you Phage)

I agree. Though the only thing I did that could have been considered "alternative" was to give up alcohol (my liver had enough to worry about), there is no reason not to use whatever is available. There is a caveat here though, there are alternative treatments which are dangerous. This is not to say that conventional therapies are perfectly safe but they are monitored carefully. Any alternative therapies should be undertaken only under the supervision of an oncologist.

The problem is that sometimes people forego conventional therapies which are proven to be effective (remember that kid with Hodgkin's Disease). While there are some cases of alternative medicine being effective, they are few and far between. Cancer kills...often, no matter what is done. But time is of the essence. Drinking wheat grass tea to see if it helps can put one into a situation where nothing can help.

Unfortunately, I live in one of the worst places for cancer rates in the US.
I've heard that my county, and the two surrounding ones are in the top 5 for cancer rates. There are many many people that have died in the area, and im currently losing two people very close to me to cancer.

I live in upstate New York. The two main reasons are considered to be
1. We have a particular wind/weather pattern that brings in precipitation from the great lakes region, (big industrialized areas), that go inland and hit the Adirondaks, causing us to get a huge amount of annual precip. Unfortunately, there is a lot of acid rain due to the industrialized areas west of us. There are many lakes that are now dead in the Adirondaks due to this.

2. Ft. Drum, which is a very big army base in our area, was one of the few places domestically that had agent orange. Supposedly the Agent orange was disposed of in a very improper manner, which people would assume contributes to the cancer rates.

Im sure there are many natural substances that promote overall health against cancer. I just found a story about using gold plated nanoparticles to destroy cancer cells.

Perhaps you can respect them now, but currently, I cannot. If they are paying people off and/or withholding better treatments, just to save their "business", I do not see how anyone can.

They will and they know it. They'll put the "alternatives" out of business.

Many natural cures for cancer have already been found and used for many years. We can probably just add this newest one to the list.

It's impossible to have a.....

.....a "cure" that is cheap and has no side effects.....

.....because there are so many different types of cancer.

There will always need to be an array of different cancer technologies to address patient needs.

Reading one of your previous posts, I agree. It seems time is of the essence. One could drink wheat grass in thinking it is the "cure", when in fact it is doing absolutely nothing.

I just put two and two together with the 'Food and Drug Administration'. Most convention food is malnutritious and may have other artificial chemicals that are out of balance the the earth. We then get cancer and other diseases from malnutrition and exposure to harmful chemicals. Drug industry profits off of expensive, dangerous "cures".

I do not know of your stance on the issue, but I thank you for responding.

An ounce of prevention. We know quite a lot about the causes of some cancers, other very little. Some are avoidable, others may not be.

But once it's discovered it's no time to dither. Pull out all the stops.

I recently saw a case wherein treatment was delayed by 3-4 weeks.

That was enough time to make the tumour untreatable.

It can be that close.....

Find a cheap, 100% harmless cure for each specific cancer then?

Its seems you mentioned you are working for the 'Cancer Industry' or drug industry ( for lack of better term)? Working on technologies that are complex and such?

That is where we diverge I think. Yes I think technologies could perhaps destroy most cancers one day in the future, but that still leaves behind the idea of prevention.

'This is what I think': We, as humans, are meant to have pure, organic foods, which were originally here on earth and harmonized with earth long before corporations decided to Genetically Modify, and use harmful chemicals, only to exploit and hurt consumers all while profiteering. These are the same foods that helped us evolve and become who we are today.

In light of the previously stated, I think cancer treatment technologies can have a tremendous impact on the mortality rate of cancer patients, but only if they have no side effects.

Hopefully you can see now why I may advocate cures such as the OP found, rather than relying on a billion dollar industry to inch its way to a "cure" with less side effects, at a cheaper cost.

Hopefully you can see now why I may advocate cures such as the OP found, which is to keep in harmony with the earth, to know why cancer occurs, and how to prevent it in the future, and for future generations.

Thank you for your thoughtful & well written reply.

I agree with the concepts you expound.

A wholistic approach to prevention is extremely important & within my busy life, I try hard to "head in that direction" myself.

There is some very interesting science that validates the benefits of organic foods & at the very least, eating food that is processed as little as possible.

As an extension of that.....

There is also some very interesting research being done, based on a new hypothesis regarding how our immune system deals with overcoming cancer. If it can be validated, it might explain the phenomenon of "spontaneous remission" & we might be able to use that "mechanism" to assist cancer patients.

I'm sure I will continue to enjoy your posts.
