I came across this video and found it very interesting, it really makes you think.

I'm not real sure what to say, the video speaks for its self.
What do you think of this?

Reminds me of the pretext on how they build avatars for the new series, Caprica.

I like google, like their foundings, their general direction, and what they have contributed to the development of the web.

The main question, privacy, is a tricky one. On one hand, if your using their service, they have every right to collect information you give them...but it doesn't stop the general creepyness factor that my life is documented out there to near perfection should anyone care to pull the file.

Ultimately, for me anyhow, there is no way around it so just accept it...and I would venture to say for everyone else here....the alternative is to toss your computer into the garbage and live in a cave.

Good video but I find it slightly exaggerating because it does not point out the weaknesses of such a system.

To read every email, post, website, etc by a human would require billions of humans scanning everything all the time. Impossible feat.

So now we are at AI data mining. AI programs are not intelligent, but rather they operate on mathematical principals which are very limited at this point still and it simply lacks "Common Sense".

What I am saying is, that all of this information is simply too big to handle and that you should not be afraid as long as you do not say Keywords all the time and actually post your plans to commit serious crimes. Even then they may not pick you up right away, it could take weeks or months for the AI data mining to pinpoint you exactly and specifically.

Also, it is pure foolishness to expect Privacy on the Internet. It is essentially a public arena, where privacy is not applicable.

But who is Watching? Not any human beings that is for sure. Just some stupid primitive super computers. The computer has to flag you for any human being to waste their time investigating, and that takes a lot of time.

It is simply a slippery slope and they could never keep on top of it.

They WANT us to think we are being watched, so we will police ourselves effectively. But its a Half-Truth. They can barely keep track.

Interesting, thanks for sharing.

What I found interesting but not surprising is Google branching out to molecular biology, and genetics. I wish there had been a source for this data.

"Google invests more money in genetic testing firm co-founded by Brin’s spouse"
www.siliconbeat.com...

"Google Invests In Genetic Indexing"
science.slashdot.org.../04/20/1640237
Can't seem to fix this link. After you click it, go to the address bar and add "/04/20/1640237" and it will get you the actual article.

"Google Invests In DNA Sequencing Project"
www.techcrunch.com...

"Google goes biotech, invests in 23andMe"
blogs.zdnet.com...

Here is just a few sources to get you started. Coincidentally, I found all the links through a Google search.

Some very interesting reading there too.

Edit to fix a broken link.

Everywhere you go, you are being watched. Even in the comfort of your home, you are being watched. Those with laptops with built in web cams, just know that those things don't turn off.

Tv's have eyes, too. When you go to sleep, unplug them.

Nevermind the huge satelites in space that can zoom in on you whenever, wherever.

I don't mind if google is watching us. Everything is watching us.

Let them watch. They are being watched as well.

'On one hand, if your using their service, they have every right to collect information you give them'

what?!?!?!?....i dont give them any information..they have a search engine and want people to use it...can you tell me where it says on the front of their site what they do with the things we type in?

its like saying a ford has ever right to track you as you are using one of their products...utter rubbish...

google could make enough money with their search engine without keeping such private things....they choose not to...and they may claim its for the good of humanity but the most evil things can be justified if one tries hard enough...

The question that is on my mind mostly is:

Who is google watching us for?

Of course they have an interest themselves in getting as much info and data about us as possible and mining that data for profit.

We know that Microsoft cooperates with the US gov in way that are sometimes rather shocking..

We know the Telecom Companies do the same thing...

Google was happy with complying with Chinese cencorship for some years.

When Fascism returns, I sure do hope that google won't side with the facists. Or have they already?

And where did Facebook come from? LOL
