There are ten Americans being held in Haiti right now against their will. It is said
there being held for offenses of child trafficing. Trying to smuggle 33 children across the border into the dominican republic. Their also members of a Christian group. Earlier today a judge denied their conditional release sending them all from
the detention center to mens and womens prisons. When one of the detained,
Laura Silsby, was asked what was going on? She replied,"We just don't know".

What I've been wondering is this. Ten Christian Americans detained right after
fat mouth Pat Robertson is quoted in the press saying he believes Haiti was targeted by God for their Satanic worship thru their practice of voodoo.

I was thinking on this and decided to put it to you guys/gals here.
I've come to the conclusion these people have been set up by the Haitian Govt.
in direct correlation to Robertson's big mouth. He hasn't made one gesture towards helping in their release. We know he has plenty of what it is going to take. i
myself am a believer always will be. I sure as hell am not of the chorus of an organised religion especially of the one Robertson is lavished by.

Pat Robertson is one of the least I would think of trusting. I don't believe he
walks in the light of what Jesus taught. The things he said were just wrong
true or not dosn't matter, they have nothing to do with what Christ
would expect from of one of his own. There are other things to like calling for an asassination on Hugo Chavez, the
guy just isn't right by along shot. Now after he is probably responsible for these people being detianed he isn't going to step up. Havn't heard a word from his azz since TSHTF, all tight liped now or what?
Any one else want to add something to this feel free, go where thou wilt.

I am disgusted at this guy claiming Christianity. I think he's anything away from that, yet it seems he can do no wrong .

Regardless if with, or without parents consent, the group failed to do the paperwork. They didn't follow normal adoption proceedings. The Haitian government had given an explicit warning: “Normal adoption proceedings must be followed, even in this times of crisis.”

I'm not really sure how you can take such a stance where the ten are concerned. An obviously corrupt foreign govt. One of the childrens mother,
as you said wanted to get her daughter out of there any way she could
and even in America, well we used to be innocent until proven guilty.

Things seem to jump off with Robertsons bombastic remarks so it looks fishy to me. Did you check the link that Wylekat directed me to?

I bet they are scared to death right now. This is a time their lives could go either way just being where they are.

Oil surplus? Now that's an angle I haven't heard. See what I can find on that.

You should tune into CNN's reporting on this issue. The group was handing out a pamphlet to families to convince them to hand over their children. The thing is - all 5 things they said on the pamphlet were lies.

First of all, most of those children were not orphans.

You'll have to copy paste this link into your browser.

See that IMO makes Robertson look like crap he isn't even concerned that he might have caused this. He's not even concerned that it looks like his
mouthing off could have something to with this. He looks really bad for not having his butt right in the middle of this.
CNN has more concern than that diamond digging despot.
Thanks mugg.

If someone is caught in the act of a capital crime like murder or kidnapping, he will get arrested. He will spend some time in prison before his trial and the sentencing. If the suspect is found innocent, he will get compensation for this wrongful imprisonment. This detention of suspects is the normal proceeding. Tears and assertions of good intentions doesn't change that. The group has been caught red-handed at the frontier with 33 children and without documents. So they are suspects in a child-kidnapping case. An investigation (not necessary a trial or a sentence) must follow.

They should have brought food, water and medicine. Instead they have taken children. In my opinion they have exploited the traumatized parents and children after a tragic disaster. Did they have consent from all parents? My impression is, that they didn't even try to do this. They just accepted the children from a Haitian pastor. No documents, no investigation, nothing. Have they told the parents, that the children will be brought in an religious indoctrination orphanage? They failed even to treat the children well.

“Officers said they were arrested because they did not have proof that the youngsters - many of whom were sick and dehydrated - were orphans.”

www.dailymail.co.uk...

It is irrelevant if the Haitian government is corrupt. If someones acts reckless and criminal like this group, he will get imprisoned in every country of the world.

And I followed the link. If these blood diamond allegations are true, is Pat Robertson an even bigger scumbag, than I previously thought.

To be clear Shrew there's no way I could say you are wrong, I know what you say is right. I don't disagree with the facts you have stated with such
eloquence. I really have a problem with the way he is already a big scumbag from what I'm seeing. Those allogations of slave labor and
blood diamonds are facts the same as calling for an asassination on
a country's leader and convincing his sheeple he knows the mind of God.

He is just not even covering his azz anymore, as if he can't be bothered with it. That's why he hasn't even made a statement of any acknowledgement. That he might provide legal counsel for his fellow
Christians or anything. As if the whole thing dosn't exist.
That just dosn't fly for me.
This guy was born a senators son for crap sakes .He's really just another politician.
Ok I'll say it. I hate the guy.

What's odd is I thought I would draw a few to his defense here.
Guess it's that bad.
All of my Christian Homies are already on to this clown.

There's even more about it that gets my goat now!
I mean hey why don't you just go make your own thread about it then? You
should be able to some how use all the ideas I've put forward here. The best part is no one will notice at all.

And people wonder why I left the faith.... Robertson and people like him.

I think that may be something for a different thread partner.
As for the gold I don't know of any in Haiti. Maybe black gold.

According to a 2001 Washington Post story, in 1999, Robertson’s Freedom Gold signed a business deal with notoriously corrupt and brutal dictator Charles Taylor of Liberia allowing Robertson’s company to explore and receive gold mining rights in that country.

It was mentioned at the bottom of the webpage you put up.
