BAE Systems handed £286m criminal fines in UK and US

news.bbc.co.uk

BAE Systems will admit two criminal charges and pay fines of £286m to settle US and UK probes into the firm.

It will hand over more than £250m to the US, which accused BAE of "wilfully misleading" it over payments made as the firm tried to win contracts.

BAE will pay about £30m in the UK - a record criminal corporate fine - for separate wrongdoings.

In other words, they've paid their way out of any 'trouble' they may be in and can carry on business as usual.

After all, their business is basically war related and there is plenty of that going on right now and they are never short of customers.

This amount of money is daft...seeing as;

1. they can afford it
2. the money will most probably be used by the two governments towards further purchases.
3. any money spent by either of the three parties will be regained by on-going and future wars.

typical really...
