Heres two from 4th Feb 2010

sohowww.nascom.nasa.gov...
sohowww.nascom.nasa.gov...

I have been seeing more and more of these blackouts, I posted a thread a while back on another blacked out section..
I wonder why they are blocked out.
I doubt its to cover a flare as they are in two different areas.
You may have seen this video - www.youtube.com...
Could it be something to do with that?

Id like to hear your thoughts.

Are you pointing us to the "blacked-out" section, and why must it be there?

Posting links to images doesn't tell us much.
What is it you find interesting?

Tell us what you are seeing. Are black squares common in these pics? Or are they starting to cover up the small crafts that have been shot is pics recently? I don't look at these images regularly, so tell us what is special about them.

Think I get what your after. What is being hidden by the black squares? It is . . odd. A flash cover maybe? Doubt it. (Shrug)

Sorry but I dont see any blackouts or anything strange in these images.

And the so called "ufos near sun" was nothing more then some mess on sensors, because they were baking-out CCDs few days later.

The black out squar has gone now, but has been replaced by a cut and paste in the same area. (near top left hand corner on the top picture)

I was looking through SOHO videos tonight and between 01/27/10 @ 16:06 you follow the clip through then they overlay it with another image and called it a CCD BAKEOUT then the next image with out the overlay is 02/02/10 @ 18:26 but a period missing during the so called CCD BAKEOUT of six days when the usual is 9 or so hours. Is there any reason for this or what a CCD BAKEOUT is ???

Video image was from the SOHO site and was img EIT 284.

just curious why they would do that
