Hey, everyone. This is my first post.
Wanted to share this to get your opinion. I thought Stewart was pretty much right on in his assessment of FOX News.

YouTube has crappy quality though...

I saw this live and it should be required viewing.

Especially Part 2

One of the comments...

Dennis Miller said exactly what most people should be thinking: we all come from different places, we believe and hold certain views to be true, but that doesn't mean we have to behave like neadrathals and throw out productive, deductive reasoning and logic. I appreciate Stewart a great deal, and O'rielly not so much, but after watching this interview, I appreciate O'rielly a lot more.

Good Show

I can't stand Bill O'Reily, he rarely gave Stewart a chance to talk. He is biased completely and ignorant along with Glen Beck.

Every host and anchor on FAUX News try to convince you that they're fair and balanced when they're the most blinded and brainwashed sheeple on the planet.

Let's quote Immortal Technique on this one

The fourth branch of the government AKA the media...

...A machine shouldn't speak for men
So shut the f*** up you mindless drone!

And you know it's serious
When these same media outfits are spending millions of dollars on a PR campaign
To try to convince you they're fair and balanced
When they're some of the most ignorant, and racist people
Giving that type of mentality a safe haven

We act like we share in the spoils of war that they do
We die in wars, we don't get the contracts to make money off 'em afterwards!
We don't get weapons contracts, *****!
We don't get cheap labor for our companies, *****!
We are cheap labor, *****!
Turn off the news and read, *****!
Read... read... read...

They are both playing a game, you must take everything both of them say with a grain of salt. I think they actually play for the same side and don't even now it, controlled opposition if you will.

You know, I've never looked up to any man on this planet my whole life or had any sort of "hero" until I looked into Stewart and really understood him and what hes trying to do.

I don't get how people can hate him so much when he is clearly doing what he can to open closed minds. I can think of no better way to accomplish such a thing but through laughter.

Man I really hope he gets into government one day...

Did you even watch the video? Probably not, since you did not even address the OP.

As for the OP, I watched it. O usually comes off as an # to me. The interview was not too bad.

I did watch it.

And if you aren't familiar with that song. The whole song is about how MSM is the "4th branch" of the gov't. Listen to it.

That is exactly what Stewart was pointing out.

And O'Riely still came off as an arse. He always interrupted Stewart when he was about t make a good point, on multiple points.

Fox News is hurting America and O'Reily and Beck don't help either

Pretty much sums it up for me, too. I think those two like each other... O'Reilly has been on the Daily Show, as well. Bumps the ratings for both shows and the two get to debate (a debate that is generally more balanced than most) and I do think they each "get" what the other brings to the table. I have not seen O'Reilly give that type of time to many others... Stewart is awesome... Love his show and his insight and the sarcasm it's delivered with.

I love how the won't show a full interview, its just clips...wonder why....And how O'Reily is really trying to put Fox as "THE" main source of news. I wonder what Americans would think if they just had a day devoted to topics on ATS. It makes me mad when he goes on to say like 50 percent of Americans think FAUX is the most trusted news, I want to know how many they polled on that. And when O'Reily goes on to say "your viewers are slackers and stoners"...fair and balanced yeah right.

I also would like to say sure, maybe Stewart is a little to nice on Obama but either way he makes jokes at the whole political system and not just parties. I also wonder if many people pick up how sarcastic Stewart is when he talks about Obama.

Yep... that's exactly what's going on.

Miller a sell out? Dennis Miller has said for years that during his SNL stint and early career, he had to hide his conservatism. Coming clean and going by your true beliefs is not selling out.

Your comment is totally off base.

When someone says O'Reilly and Stewart are both playing games.... That to me seems too simple a way to discard the whole interview... O'Reilly's game is to perpetuate the same b.s. stance FOX News has tried to have... that they are fair and balanced and not just right-wing propaganda.

Jon Stewart's game, if you want to call it that, is to go on O'Reilly's show, and backup his claims that FOX News is biased and on top of that to suggest FOX News is associated with a Shadow Government, to sell the people a narrative, not necessarily based on truth, but always based on FOX's Agenda, whatever that may be.... Well it doesn't surprise me at all that Bill changed the subject many times.

The other thing that doesn't surprise me is all the blatant editing FOX did, chopping up Stewart's responses. I mean, at least when Jon Stewart's interviews go long, they make the full interview available online.

What is FOX afraid of? The same thing all liars are afraid of. The truth.

So let's break this down...

Corporations are people.
Corporations, because they are people, have freedom of speech.
Money equals speech.
Corporations can engage in unlimited campaign spending.
And the best one of all...
FOX News won a court ruling which under the first amendment right, says they have the right to lie.

Awesome.

So FOX News can be biased, and lie, and put unlimited funds into it to sway elections. Pretty much the most shady 'news' network of all time... Hitler would have LOVED it though!!!!!

You made alot of good points that I would agree with. I watched both vids.
I really can't stand watching a so-called "interview" where the host continually interrupts his guest. That's not an "interview." It's a "Here's my view, and I'll tell you why." And for a couple-few words from guest, he goes and spins the topic elsewhere. I normally pass the "opportunity" to catch the latest news, if the news being offered is any MSM, ESPECIALLY Fox. Well known as an opinionated syndication, IMHO. Thank God for ATS, else I'd still be a snoring beast with no chance of pulling my head outta my arse. And now that I nolonger suffer from Rectal-Cranial-Inversion, I can't say it smells any better.

If you idolize Stewart then you've been had. I despise the man because I can see right through him. He is no more trying to "open" minds than Sarah Palin is going to school for a doctorate. He's gaining people's trust using humor and then pushing, easing, the typical liberal agenda on an unsuspecting America.

Stewart is a disgrace to America. O'Reilly isn't any better, but at least he isn't trying to hide his affiliation or his agenda. If Stewart gets into politics it would be the final death knell for America. Not a single foreign country would take the man seriously.

I'd rather see Stewart hanging from a yardarm DEAD than him getting into politics. At least where he's at now he can't do any harm by wooing the simple-minded people of this nation.

For one,I idolize nothing. For two...

It's not about politics!!!! ****ing damn I'm so tired of you guys politicizing EVERYTHING. Enough with this stupid liberal agenda garbage already. You don't see through anything at all, you don't agree with his logic and what he has to say so in your eyes he becomes a liberal shill/commie socialist whatever.

Because of his show and his show ALONE the games of the media have been put on public display at a mainstream level. Disregarding everything else that's enough for me to love the guy and everyone involved with his show.

So what are your specific complaints about what he does? I've never heard anybody have a specific reason for hating him other then hes a dirty commie. Everything he stands for is based on cold, hard, simple logic. Forget your stupid red vs blue and just think about things.
