Google, NSA may team up over cyberattacks: report

Internet search firm Google is finalizing a deal that would let the National Security Agency help it investigate a corporate espionage attack that may have originated in China, the Washington Post reported on Thursday.

The sources said Google's alliance with the NSA, the world's most powerful electronic surveillance organization, would be aimed at letting the two sides share critical information without violating Google's policies or laws that protect the privacy of online communications.

Not sure what you mean by "keep a close eye on google"? If there's an arrangement with the NSA you can be certain that none of it will be public knowledge, so how then can it be scrutinized? What we do know is that this is simply a public fronting of methods "they" have long used. The only realistic answer is to stop using google but that presents other challenges.

Yeah! and don't forget that they are working with Darpa with the development of artificial Intelligence - The AI machine at google must be quite smart and clever by now - imagine all those books google scanned in from all over the world- this AI machine have already read them all!

Watch out for the Google/Darpa "3D Grid" near your area in the future.

Not using Google is something we all should be doing. There are other search engines that, while not as good are viable search tools. If you do use Google, use and anonyomizer.

The same goes for these online backup tools. IMO, you'd be a fool to use those.

Not using Google will have little to do with Google's financial state nor their integration with many aspects of our lives. It is a personal decision, much like a boycot.

It also should be no surprise that government work keeps coming to Google. this business, medical records, etc. Those dudes lead Obama's technology advisory committee and donated massive amounts to his election

Google is the government.
